Job Summary

This position will be responsible for welding/repairing overbar SSC's by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.

Job Description

Responsibilities & Duties
• Read and interpret blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand
• Perform MIG, TIG and other types of weld based on project needs
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
• Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
• Weld SSC components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• High school diploma/GED

Advanced knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and joint design
High level of craftsmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently on complex jobs
Physical ability to perform demanding welding tasks safely

Preferred
• 1+ year of experience operating as a commercial welder
• Current and valid certification a plus
• Experience working with power tools
• Outstanding attention to detail
