About the Role
We are seeking to add a Legal Associate to our team based in our New York office. This is a broad role, where you will join a team responsible for the full range of the firm's legal needs across our offices. Tasks will include providing legal analysis of new business opportunities (new markets, products and trading opportunities), drafting, reviewing and negotiating NDA’s and commercial contracts (technology, data, and vendor agreements), drafting, reviewing and negotiating trading and counterparty documentation, assisting with general corporate matters, advising on employment and personnel matters, and managing outside counsel where specialist input is required.
About You
The candidate must hold a JD (or equivalent) and be admitted to practice in New York, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience gained at a major law firm, in-house, or a combination of the two. Strong drafting and negotiation skills across a wide range of commercial agreements, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to give clear and practical advice to non-legal audiences are required. Ability to work independently, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask are required. Comfort working across jurisdictions and with colleagues and counsel in other offices is expected.
Experience at a proprietary trading firm, broker-dealer or financial institution is preferred.
Annual Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000. Base salary does not include discretionary bonus, if eligible, or benefits.
