Legend Biotech is seeking a Corporate FP&A Executive Director as part of the Finance team based in Bridgewater, NJ.
Role Overview
The Corporate FP&A Executive Director reports to the Chief Financial Officer and leads the company’s global FP&A agenda, including long-range planning, annual budgeting, forecasting, performance management, strategic decision support, management reporting, and enterprise performance monitoring. The role transforms FP&A into a source of competitive advantage by enabling leadership to anticipate opportunities, identify risks, strengthen resource allocation, and make faster, higher-quality decisions for the CFO, executive leadership team, and Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company’s long-range planning, annual budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning processes, ensuring alignment of strategic, operational, and financial plans.
- Use planning and forecasting to anticipate in-year decisions, identify risks and opportunities, evaluate trade-offs, and support dynamic resource reallocation across the business.
- Provide strategic decision support to the CFO, executive leadership team, and Board on profitability, cash flow, capital allocation, investment prioritization, strategic planning, M&A support, and enterprise performance.
- Develop management reporting, KPI frameworks, dashboards, driver-based analysis, and business review materials that improve visibility into business drivers, financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Champion predictive analytics, AI-enabled forecasting, scenario modeling, cost analytics, profitability improvement, and data-driven insights to move FP&A beyond variance reporting toward proactive insight and action.
- Lead the FP&A technology roadmap and partner with Finance, IT, and business teams to scale decision-support tools, dashboards, planning models, simulators, and analytics products.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing global FP&A team with strong analytical, digital, executive communication, storytelling, and business-partnering capabilities
- Establish governance over planning assumptions, data quality, analytics outputs, management reports, automation inputs, and recurring decision-support processes.
- Partner across the organization to improve business performance monitoring, monitor leading indicators, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and drive corrective actions or alternative approaches when performance gaps arise.
- Provide specialist R&D finance support for pipeline strategy, research/discovery, clinical development, regulatory, and therapeutic area investment decisions, ensuring transparency of cost, value, risk, and return across the development portfolio.
- Evaluate R&D portfolio cost, value, risk, and return, including resource allocation across projects, modalities, and therapeutic areas in early and late-stage development using advanced financial evaluation techniques.
- Partner with Development, Regulatory, Clinical, and business development teams to support investment decisions, external collaboration analysis, clinical trial accounting considerations, and senior leadership materials.
- Ensure disciplined cost management, compliance with finance standards, and adherence to SOX and FCF control requirements.
This role operates with significant autonomy to lead enterprise FP&A processes, establish integrated planning and reporting standards, manage forecast and scenario planning methodologies, prioritize analytics and decision-support work, guide FP&A technology priorities, and deploy team resources within approved strategies and budgets.
The leader may make recommendations and decisions related to planning assumptions, forecast scenarios, performance reviews, analytics priorities, operating model improvements, and financial trade-offs within approved parameters. CFO, executive leadership, or Board approval is required for material changes to enterprise financial commitments, major strategic shifts, significant budget allocations, external collaborations with financial or long-term implications, and investment decisions requiring formal governance review.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related quantitative discipline; MBA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred. Experience with process improvement and digital project management frameworks, such as Lean or Agile, is also preferred.
- 10–15 years of progressive finance or FP&A experience, including experience leading and managing teams. Demonstrated track record of delivering strategic decision support to the CFO, C-suite, with experience in long-range planning, profitability improvement, capital efficiency, investment evaluation, financial feasibility studies, M&A support, and capital planning, preferably in a global environment. Proven ability to implement dynamic forecasting models, scenario planning, predictive analytics, process improvement, automation, and operational efficiencies within FP&A. Relevant R&D finance experience supporting pipeline strategy, research/discovery and development portfolios, clinical or regulatory leadership teams, resource allocation, investment evaluation, and financial governance in a complex global matrix environment preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with enterprise financial systems, including ERP platforms, BI tools, and advanced financial planning systems. Desired strong working knowledge of predictive analytics, AI/ML-enabled forecasting, scenario modeling, and data visualization tools.
- Ability to translate digital technologies into practical finance process improvements, dashboards, automation, and decision-support tools.
- Language(s): English required. Additional languages may be preferred depending on global business scope and regional stakeholder responsibilities.

The base pay range below is what Legend Biotech USA Inc. reasonably expects to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. The company reserves the right to modify this range as needed and in accordance with applicable laws.
Other Types of Pay: Performance-based bonus and/or equity is available to employees in eligible roles.
