About the American Connection Corps:

The American Connection Corps (ACC), an AmeriCorps program of Lead For America (LFA), is a service fellowship program aimed at helping communities build the digital connectivity necessary to expand opportunity and economic mobility, ranging from healthcare access to quality employment.

ACC Members spend a year serving with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities.

Position Overview

The Digital Navigation Coordinator brings digital skills directly to the people who need them, in the form they can actually use. Based at Conway Community Center, this position serves two groups: youth ages 14 to 24 enrolled in workforce programming and community members connected through partner organizations, including Roots Wellness Center. The work includes supporting and facilitating group workshops and providing 1:1 support to community members, covering everything from setting up a first professional email to navigating benefits portals to staying safe online under the guidance and supervision of Conway Community Center staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in facilitating afternoon digital literacy classes for youth ages 16–24 at Conway Community Center.
  • Support in developing instructional materials across technology fundamentals, digital tools, and career readiness skills that support participant learning and engagement.
  • Help manage class logistics including attendance tracking, material preparation, and participant documentation in Notion and ActiveNet.
  • Build authentic relationships with participants and provide additional 1:1 support as needed.
  • Connect youth to career exploration resources and workforce development opportunities aligned with program goals.
  • Plan and deliver digital literacy workshops at Conway Community Center and partner sites throughout the school year in coordination with program staff.
  • Provide 1:1 digital skills support to community members referred through partner organizations. Core areas of instruction include, but are not limited to:
  • Email creation and professional communication.
  • Resume drafting using Google Docs, Word, and related tools.
  • Video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams).
  • Online safety fundamentals including scam awareness, phishing, privacy settings, and digital footprint.
  • AI awareness topics including deepfakes and voice cloning.
  • Navigation of online platforms, benefits portals, and workforce tools.
  • Adapt workshop content to meet participants where they are, regardless of prior technology experience.
  • Document attendance, participant progress, and session notes for all workshops in program tracking systems.
  • Coordinate with partner organizations to align instruction with their clients’ needs and goals.
  • Support the facilitation and delivery of NorthStar Digital Literacy modules in coordination with the Human Development team.
  • Help youth and community members work through NorthStar’s structured digital skills framework.
  • Track participant completion and progress within the NorthStar platform to support program evaluation and participant success.
  • Collaborate with the Human Development team to support the development and refinement of digital literacy curriculum for the school year and summer 2027 workforce cohorts.
  • Contribute to content hosted on Odoo Classroom and other platforms confirmed by the Human Development team.
  • Create instructor guides, session outlines, and reusable materials that support consistent participant instruction and program delivery during and beyond the service year.
  • Identify gaps in digital literacy resources and recommend updates aligned with participant needs.
  • Attend weekly team huddles and core workforce team check-ins.
  • Contribute to grant compliance documentation by logging AmeriCorps service activities and program participation information accurately and on time.
  • Support program logistics including supply coordination, scheduling, and field trip assistance as needed.
  • Develop participant-facing resources and instructional materials that strengthen ongoing digital literacy programming.
  • Other related duties as assigned that are consistent with approved AmeriCorps service activities and completed under staff supervision.

All functions and activities performed by the AmeriCorps Member are completed under the guidance, supervision, and direction of program and host site staff.

Learning & Development Opportunities

As an ACC Member, you will receive structured training and support throughout your service year, including: 

  • A two-week-long virtual orientation with the national cohort to kick off the service year.
  • A week-long, in-person national Winter Institute convening with your ACC cohort — travel, lodging, and a per diem stipend are fully covered.
  • Twice-monthly virtual training on skills for service, including project management, asset-based community development, grant writing, and serving vulnerable populations, plus self-paced curricula with opportunities to earn badges and credentials.
  • A structured community listening tour at the start of service to understand local needs, assets, and opportunities.
  • Dedicated 1:1 support from a Lead For America Program Coordinator and twice-monthly peer pod meetings for networking and professional development.
  • Access to a national network of ACC Members, alumni, and community partners.

Requirements

  • Passion for community service and connecting your neighbors to the digital tools, skills, and opportunities they need to thrive.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Interest in gaining experience in community development or digital inclusion.

Eligibility:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident.
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Be 17 years of age or older by the start of service.
  • Have not already served four (4) or more AmeriCorps State/National terms. 

Timeline:

We are currently recruiting Members to serve from September 8th, 2026 - August 13th, 2027. Members will serve full-time (approximately 40 hours per week), completing 1700 hours of service over the course of the term.

Full-time ACC Members receive: 

  • A $33,000 living stipend (dispersed bi-weekly over the course of the service term)
  • A $7,395 Segal Education Award through AmeriCorps, which can be applied to education-related expenses after the program concludes (including repayment of qualifying student loans).
