What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a Datacenter Technician (Level III) with previous experience in data center operations. This is not an entry-level role;
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in data center operations
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage escalations, and lead a team during critical situations
- Hands-on experience with data center buildouts, equipment assembly, and installation
- Knowledge of connectivity technologies, especially fiber optics, structured cabling, and cross-connects
- Experience using fiber testing equipment
- Solid understanding of IT systems, hardware troubleshooting, and network basics
- Familiarity with Change, Incident, and Escalation Management processes
- Ability to work in a shift-based environment, including on-call rotation and after-hours support
- Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of critical infrastructure (power and cooling systems) is a plus, but not mandatory
Responsibilities
Hands-on Customer Support
- Handle customer installations and troubleshooting, including fiber cross-connects and testing
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on hardware and network equipment
- Manage internal and external tickets (including Smart Hands requests) in line with SLAs
Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Lead escalations for incidents, coordinating resolution efforts across teams
- Deliver clear shift handovers and comprehensive operational status reports
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and operational excellence
- Develop documentation and operational processes to standardize best practices
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor infrastructure alarms (power, cooling, temperature, humidity) to maintain stable operations
- Oversee contractors, ensuring compliance with safety, cleanliness, and operational standards
- Occasional travel to other data centers for project support or escalations
Qualifications
- Experience in data center operations
- Expertise in hardware troubleshooting and hands-on data center work
- Ability to work in 24/7 shift rotation
- Background in IT or Telecommunications
- Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills
- Fluent in English (Swedish is a plus)
