We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (SQL DBA) to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, securing, and optimizing our Microsoft SQL Server database environments to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability. You will work closely with developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to support mission-critical applications and data services.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
- Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with company policies.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution.
- Manage database availability through clustering, replication, and high-availability solutions.
- Develop and maintain database maintenance plans.
- Support application deployments and database migrations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server Administration, T-SQL, and database performance tuning.
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies.
- Knowledge of SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery (Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, or Replication).
- Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Understanding of database security best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
