About the Role:

We are hiring a Junior Data Scientist / Analytics Engineer to join the BI team. This is the role for someone early in their career who wants to learn the craft of analytics in a high-velocity, data-rich environment — and who genuinely enjoys the work of turning numbers into decisions.

Most of your day will be spent building dashboards and working with seniors or business stakeholders to understand what they need. You will be expected to develop a strong working knowledge of the underlying datasets — what they contain, what they mean, and how the business uses them. You will be supported by more senior people on the team, but the expectation is that you grow quickly and start owning your work end-to-end.

This is the role where you learn the business through the data — and learn the data through the business.

Responsibilities:

Build dashboards

Build, iterate on, and maintain dashboards

Take dashboards through the full lifecycle: requirements gathering, prototyping, build, review, deployment, and ongoing maintenance

Learn the data

Develop a solid working knowledge of the underlying datasets that power the business — what is in them, how they connect, where the pitfalls are

Write clean, well-documented SQL and Python to extract, transform, and analyse data

Ask good questions: about the data, about the business, about whether a metric is actually measuring what it claims to measure

Support the team

Pick up smaller analyses, ad-hoc requests, and follow-up work to keep the team moving

Document your work clearly so others can build on it

Grow into more complex projects over time as your skills develop

Qualifications:

You are proficient in Python and SQL

Solid working SQL — joins, aggregations, CTEs, window functions; able to write queries that other people can read and trust

Comfortable in Python for data work — pandas at minimum, with willingness to learn PySpark and the broader stack

Some exposure to modern data tools (Databricks, dbt, Tableau, Looker, or similar) is a plus — but more important is the willingness to learn

You have a good feel for data

Some experience working with real datasets — through internships, projects, coursework, or a previous role

You enjoy digging into data to understand what is going on; you are not satisfied with a query that runs but produces a number you cannot explain

Basic instincts for data quality — you notice when something looks off
