Job Description

Job Purpose/Summary

The Manufacturing Technician - ROX supports the execution, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Rockwell Operating Excellence programs across the plant. This role contributes to the deployment of Lean Manufacturing practices, daily management routines, MOR compliance, 5S, Kaizen events, employee engagement programs, productivity improvements, operational metrics tracking, AutoCAD plant layout updates, and relay out support activities.

The position works closely with ROX, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Quality, EHS, and plant leadership to identify waste, improve process performance, maintain accurate layout documentation, support visual management systems, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Role Scope Emphasis

• ROX daily management, MOR routines, Lean transformation, Kaizen, 5S, and productivity improvement.
• Data analysis, Indicator tracking, scorecards, dashboards, executive reporting, and digital tracking tools.
• AutoCAD plant layout maintenance, current-state/future-state layouts, space optimization, equipment moves, and relayout support.

Primary responsibilities:

1. Support ROX Daily Management and MOR routines: Support the maintenance, follow-up, and improvement of daily management systems, MOR boards, tier meetings, and plant-level ROX routines to ensure process visibility, accountability, and performance improvement.

2. Promote Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices: Apply and support Lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 7 Wastes, Flow, A3 Thinking, TPM, and visual management to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste.

3. Support Kaizen events and employee improvement programs: Participate in Kaizen events, Quick & Easy Kaizen, suggestion systems, and employee-led improvement activities to strengthen continuous improvement culture and improve productivity.

4. Track and report operational and ROX metrics: Collect, consolidate, analyze, and report key performance indicators related to ROX programs, productivity, 5S, MOR compliance, Kaizen participation, employee suggestions, and improvement project progress.

5. Support 5S and workplace organization programs: Participate in 5S audits, follow-up actions, workplace organization activities, visual standards, and area recovery plans to maintain clean, safe, efficient, and audit-ready work areas.

6. Help with time studies, video analysis, and process observation: Support transformation engineers and ROX leaders by recording operations, conducting time studies, documenting current-state processes, and identifying improvement opportunities.

7. Maintain plant layouts and support relayout activities using AutoCAD: Maintain the plant layout updated using AutoCAD and support relayout activities in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Operations, EHS, and ROX. This includes updating layout drawings, supporting space utilization studies, documenting current and future-state layouts, assisting with line moves, equipment relocation, flow improvement initiatives, and ensuring layout changes are controlled and aligned with productivity, safety, and operational excellence objectives.

8. Support employee training and ROX onboarding: Assist with new employee induction related to ROX fundamentals, Lean culture, continuous improvement programs, 5S expectations, and employee participation systems.

9. Support employee suggestion and engagement systems: Organize up on employee improvement suggestions to ensure evaluation, tracking, and implementation according to ROX procedures.

10. Prepare reports, presentations, and visual management materials: Update templates, dashboards, training material, scorecards, metrics boards, and communication materials required to support ROX programs and leadership reviews

11. Support plant productivity and strategic improvement priorities: Complete activities assigned by ROX leadership to support plant productivity, cost reduction, labor efficiency, process stabilization, space optimization, and continuous improvement goals.

12. Comply with Integrated System requirements: Follow company policies related to Ethics, EHS, Quality, Integrated Management System requirements, customer satisfaction, corrective actions, product realization, process monitoring, and document control.

Minimum Required Education

Student from Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related.

Deseable: Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma or related courses. Intermediate English.

Minimum Required Skills

• Strong attention to detail and good organizational discipline.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD for manufacturing layout updates, equipment location changes, area modifications, and relayout support.
• Ability to read, interpret, and update plant layout drawings.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and manage operational indicators.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools, including Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, 7 Wastes, Value Stream Mapping, and visual management.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Facilities, EHS, HR, and ROX teams.
• Basic problem-solving skills using structured methods such as A3, root cause analysis, 5 Why, and corrective action follow-up.
• Intermediate English is preferred.
