The Role
Reporting to the Chief Commercial & Business Development Officer, the Head of Commercial will own the German P&L end to end — building and evolving commercial channels, expanding the customer base, and winning hospital and insurance-group tenders to deliver Stragen's five-year strategic plan. The role leads a lean, commercially focused team across sales, marketing and supporting functions, while safeguarding compliance and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow the Germany P&L, delivering revenue, margin, cash and forecast-accuracy targets
- Lead commercial execution across hospital, private-group retail, insurance-group and tender channels
- Own tender strategy and delivery (Rabattverträge/GKV): pipeline, bid/no-bid, pricing, fulfilment and governance
- Engage payers, purchasing bodies, wholesalers and pharmacy networks; optimise trade terms
- Develop digital marketing and direct-to-patient strategies
- Build and manage Group-developed partnerships and co-promotion activity
- Support corporate-driven BD/M&A projects with country business cases and post-deal integration
- Ensure full compliance with AMG, HWG, FSA Code, GDP/GxP, Pharmacovigilance and GDPR, maintaining inspection readiness
- Recruit, coach and develop the team
Requirements
- 10–15+ years in pharma/CHC, with proven sales or business-unit leadership in Germany
- § 75 AMG Sachkenntnis (Pharmaberater / Geprüfte:r Pharmareferent:in), or an equivalent qualifying scientific degree, permitting direct professional engagement with pharmacies and prescribers
- Strong track record in sales growth and tender wins, with deep knowledge of the GKV/tender and payer ecosystem
- Partnership management and co-promotion experience; familiarity with Gx and specialty dossier suppliers
- Commercial finance acumen — pricing, contribution margin and working capital
- Fluent German and English, with excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
