Caregiver – Piedmont, CA

A welcoming family in Piedmont, CA 94610, is seeking a compassionate, physically capable caregiver to support a 47-year-old living with terminal cancer who requires hands-on assistance with mobility and personal care. The ideal candidate will be a reliable, supportive presence in a household that includes two school-aged children and two friendly rescue dogs.

Schedule:

• Preferred: Monday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (28 hours/week)
• Alternative Full-Time Option: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM/8:00 AM – 4:00 PM/5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
• Target Start Date: September 7, 2026

Family Specifications:

• Active household with two children (ages 10 and 13) and two friendly rescue dogs (25 lbs and 60 lbs).
• Seeking a caregiver who is dependable, empathetic, and comfortable in a household with children and pets.

Responsibilities:

• Provide physical transfers and mobility support, including navigating stairs and bed transfers.
• Assist with personal hygiene, bathroom routines, and standing support during catheterization and ostomy bag changes.
• Prepare daily meals, including cooking lunch.
• Drive client to medical appointments (some up to an hour away).
• Provide afternoon school pickups and transportation to after-school activities for the children.
• Walk the two dogs during the day.
• Perform light household maintenance, such as laundry and vacuuming.

Requirements:

• Direct experience with adult mobility assistance and safe physical transfer techniques.
• Comfort and familiarity assisting with catheterization and ostomy bag maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle (or comfort driving a client vehicle).
• Comfort working around children and pets.

Compensation:

• $37-$39/hour for 28 hours/week or $26 - $28/hour for 40 hours/week
• Standard IRS mileage reimbursement for driving for appointments, school runs, and local errands in personal vehicle
