We are seeking a highly organized, clinically trained Virtual Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator to support an Orthopedics, Pain Medicine, & PM&R practice. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Nurse (RN or NP) with a strong hospital background who combines clinical judgment with virtual administrative excellence to manage complex patient case files, navigate multi-payer insurance verifications, and deliver exceptional cross-channel patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- High-Volume Case Management: Manage and organize large, complex patient files and clinical records with extreme detail and accuracy.
- Cross-Channel Communication: Conduct professional, warm, and clear patient outreach across phone, email, and text messaging.
- Insurance Verification & Coordination: Navigate complex verifications across Commercial, Personal Injury (PI), and Workers' Compensation coverage.
- Schedule & Calendar Management: Oversee provider calendars, book patient appointments, and ensure smooth clinical workflow.
- Clinical Triage & Oversight: Utilize nursing judgment to handle patient inquiries, understand treatment contexts, and streamline care without requiring heavy supervision.
Requirements
- Clinical Credentials: Active RN (Registered Nurse) or NP (Nurse Practitioner) background (non-negotiable).
- Hospital Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical hospital nursing experience.
- Virtual Assistant Experience: Minimum 2 years working as a Virtual Assistant.
- Language Skills: Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, featuring a friendly voice and exceptionally clear spoken English.
- Insurance Expertise: Hands-on experience verifying Commercial, Personal Injury (PI), and Workers' Comp coverage.
- Tech & Admin Skills: Proficient in calendar management, appointment booking, and multi-channel communication systems.
- Core Trait: Highly organized, meticulous, and capable of juggling heavy caseloads without letting details slip.
Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a starting pay rate of $6 per hour depending on skillset and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm EST.
