Make a difference as Assistant Researcher Bioinformatics
As Assistant Researcher Bioinformatics, you will play an important role in managing and analyzing genomics data to support research and breeding activities. You will work on maintaining and improving analysis workflows while ensuring the quality and reliability of biological data. Together with molecular biologists and researchers, you will contribute to projects that accelerate the identification of valuable breeding leads. In this role, your work will include:
Performing quality control and curation of genomics datasets;
Maintaining, optimizing, and executing bioinformatics analysis workflows;
Developing new workflows and tools for genomics data analysis;
Supporting molecular biologists performing genomic data analysis;
Working with large-scale sequence data in high-performance computing environments;
Contributing to continuous improvements in data management, analysis methods, and research processes.
What you bring as our future colleague
As Assistant Researcher Bioinformatics, you bring a structured and detail-oriented mindset with a passion for working with biological data. You enjoy creating reliable and efficient workflows, while collaborating closely with colleagues from different scientific disciplines. With your strong communication skills, you can effectively translate data-driven insights into practical support for research activities. You are curious, proactive, and motivated to explore new opportunities to improve existing processes.
In addition, you have:
A BSc degree (or equivalent) in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Analysis, or a related field;
Experience working in both Linux and Windows environments;
Strong programming skills in Python and R, including knowledge of the Bioconductor repository;
Experience with version control systems such as Git and workflow management systems such as Snakemake or Nextflow;
Experience with high-performance computing and sequence data analysis;
A genuine interest in Plant Biology and excellent English communication skills.

A position for 38 hours per week;
A gross monthly salary between € €3,629.02 and € €4,746.26 (Scale G, Collective Labor Agreement for Vegetable Seed Companies), based on a full-time workweek of 38 hours and aligned with your knowledge and experience;
8.33% vacation allowance and an attractive annual bonus program of 10% of your annual salary, depending on your job level and company performance;
25 vacation days, the option to purchase additional vacation days, and one paid vitality day per year, with extra vacation days granted as you get older;
