Broadridge · Presencial · Edgewood, NY

At Broadridge, we've built a culture where the highest goal is to empower others to accomplish more. If you’re passionate about developing your career, while helping others along the way, come join the Broadridge team.

The Vice President of Operations & Continuous Improvement will lead the development and execution of a company-wide operational performance improvement program. This leader will be responsible for establishing operations dashboards, baselining critical KPIs, identifying the highest-value improvement opportunities, and leading an engineering team that helps design, test, implement, and scale operational improvements.

The role will focus on improving quality, on-time delivery, unit cost, operator efficiency, machine utilization, capacity planning, throughput, and overall operational productivity. Once KPI baselines are established, the Vice President will develop and oversee continuous improvement programs for each major performance area, ensuring that improvement initiatives are practical, measurable, financially validated, and embedded into daily operations.

A central part of the role will be engaging front-line associates in the improvement process. The Vice President will create a structured system for capturing associate ideas, testing improvements through disciplined experimentation, and sharing a portion of measurable benefits with the associates whose ideas create value. The engineering team will play a key role in evaluating ideas, developing solutions, supporting pilots, and scaling successful improvements.

The successful candidate will combine executive-level operations leadership, manufacturing or process engineering experience, strong analytical capability, continuous improvement discipline, and the ability to use AI, analytics, and automation to accelerate operational performance improvement.  This role also has leadership responsibility for maintenance technicians and a team of business analysts, ensuring equipment reliability, maintenance performance, data-driven decision support, and alignment of analytical insights with operational improvement priorities.

Core Responsibilities

Operations Dashboards and KPI Performance Management

  • Own operations dashboards for productivity, cost, labor efficiency, machine utilization, capacity, throughput, quality, and downtime.
  • Maintain clear KPI definitions, data sources, reporting cadence, ownership, and review routines.
  • Partner with operations, finance, plant leadership, and engineering to align metrics with business priorities.
  • Use KPI trends and root cause analysis to identify improvement opportunities and create actionable roadmaps.
  • Build reporting tools that help leaders and front-line teams review performance, escalate issues, and act quickly.

Engineering-Enabled Continuous Improvement

  • Lead engineers focused on improving plant operations and implementing practical solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement programs for labor efficiency, machine utilization, throughput, downtime, and scheduling.
  • Improve processes through workflow redesign, standardization, equipment utilization, layout changes, and automation where appropriate.
  • Use data, observation, and problem-solving tools such as root cause analysis, standard work, and value stream mapping.
  • Define initiatives with clear targets, ownership, timing, and financial impact.
  • Work with maintenance and reliability teams to improve uptime, preventive maintenance, and equipment performance.

Front-Line Associate Engagement

  • Foster a culture where ideas from operators, technicians, and supervisors are actively valued.
  • Create simple systems for front-line teams to submit ideas, participate in experiments, and help implement improvements.
  • Ensure ideas are evaluated, tested, and when successful, scaled across teams and sites.
  • Partner with HR and operations to design practical recognition or gain-sharing programs tied to measurable improvements.
  • Position the improvement program as support for solving problems, not as a punitive reporting system.

AI, Analytics, and Digital Tools

  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, analytics, automation, and digital tools to improve plant performance.
  • Use predictive insights to identify trends, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
  • Partner with IT, data, operations, and engineering teams to integrate tools into daily workflows and management routines.
  • Oversee tools for maintenance, quality, production planning, operator support, defect analysis, and improvement prioritization.
  • Apply AI responsibly, with clear business value.
  • Lead a team of business analysts responsible for operational reporting, KPI governance, and business case development.

Leadership of Engineering, Maintenance, and Analytics Teams

  • Lead and coach engineers and support technical functions such as maintenance coordination, equipment uptime, and reliability.
  • Lead business analysts who translate plant data into useful insights and trends.
  • Set priorities based on KPI gaps, business impact, urgency, and resources.
  • Develop team capabilities in Lean, Six Sigma, data-driven problem solving, project execution, financial validation, and change management.
  • Build a culture of accountability, experimentation, and measurable results.
  • Work closely with plant leadership so improvements are practical and adopted by front-line teams.

What the Candidate Needs to Succeed

Executive Operations Credibility

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, logistics, packaging, print/mail, or similar operations.
  • Strong knowledge of plant constraints including labor flow, quality, scheduling, downtime, bottlenecks, rework, scrap, and throughput.
  • Ability to connect plant realities to business outcomes.

Leading Engineers Toward Results

  • Experience leading manufacturing, industrial, process, reliability, automation, or continuous improvement engineers.
  • Strong execution skills and ability to move from analysis to implementation.
  • Ability to combine technical operations expertise with business and reliability thinking.

Dashboard and KPI Discipline

  • Experience creating and leading dashboards and KPI systems.
  • Strong metric design skills covering cost, labor efficiency, machine utilization, capacity, throughput, quality, and productivity.
  • Ability to use data to drive decisions, not just report history.
  • Experience managing analysts and performance review systems.

Continuous Improvement and Change Leadership

  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, root cause analysis, standard work, and value stream mapping.
  • Experience running measurable improvement initiatives with clear goals, owners, timelines, and results.
  • Ability to sustain improvements through ownership, routines, and adoption across teams.

Front-Line Engagement

  • Respect for operators, technicians, and supervisors.
  • Experience building idea systems, Kaizen programs, and employee-led improvement efforts.
  • Ability to create trust so people feel safe contributing ideas and feedback.

Financial Acumen

  • Ability to calculate savings from labor productivity, reduced rework, lower scrap, better machine utilization, and less downtime.
  • Experience working with finance to validate results and distinguish hard vs. soft savings.
  • Understanding of cost, ROI, margin impact, payback, capacity value, and cost avoidance.

Practical AI and Analytics Orientation

  • Ability to identify useful AI applications in quality, maintenance, scheduling, capacity planning, labor planning, and root cause analysis.
  • Comfort piloting AI tools with controls and measurable business value.
  • Ability to work with IT, analytics teams, vendors, and engineers to make tools operational.
  • Focus on practical outcomes rather than technology for its own sake.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations, manufacturing, engineering, industrial engineering, continuous improvement, or transformation.
  • Experience leading engineers, CI teams, process/reliability/maintenance teams, or business analysts in a plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of plant KPIs such as quality, on-time delivery, unit cost, labor productivity, machine utilization, throughput, and capacity.
  • Experience building, sponsoring, or using KPI dashboards and performance systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, standard work, and structured problem solving.
  • Proven ability to implement process, equipment, labor, workflow, or system improvements.
  • Strong financial, communication, facilitation, project management, and change management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Operations Research, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or similar certification.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing, production, fulfillment, print/mail, packaging, logistics, or similar operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems, manufacturing execution systems, production reporting tools, analytics platforms, and maintenance systems.
  • Experience with automation, production equipment improvement, workflow redesign, capacity planning, and shop-floor systems.
  • Experience designing employee idea, recognition, or gain-sharing programs tied to measurable results.
