POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President, Denials & Revenue Recovery is responsible for the strategic leadership, financial performance, operational execution, and growth of EnableComp’s Revenue Recovery and Denials business. Zero Balance Recovery is a core component of this role, along with Denials, Appeals, and other revenue recovery solutions.
This leader will partner with executive leadership, Product, Technology, Finance, Sales, Client Success, and Operations to develop and execute strategies that maximize client recoveries, drive revenue and profitability, improve operational performance, and scale the business.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish strategic priorities aligned with revenue, margin, client value, and company growth objectives.
- Identify opportunities to expand and improve revenue recovery capabilities, products, services, and client outcomes.
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert and executive resource for Revenue Recovery and Denials.
- Own the strategy, financial performance, and operational execution of Zero Balance Recovery.
- Establish recovery, revenue, productivity, and profitability targets and ensure performance against those goals.
- Continuously improve inventory identification, claim prioritization, workflows, payer strategies, staffing, and technology.
- Partner with Product and Technology to expand automation, AI, analytics, and scalable Zero Balance capabilities.
- Ensure inventory, staffing, processes, and technology are aligned to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial objectives.
- Lead variance analysis and corrective action planning with executive leadership and operational teams.
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and business planning.
- Ensure new products, technology, and processes are scalable and effectively implemented across the organization.
- Serve as an executive-level resource for key clients and strategic accounts.
- Partner with Sales and Client Success to support client retention, expansion, executive relationships, and new business opportunities.
- Lead resolution of significant client issues and coordinate cross-functional resources to drive outcomes.
- Build and lead a high-performing Revenue Recovery and Denials organization through strong managers and leaders.
- Establish organizational structure, workforce plans, performance expectations, and succession strategies.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing leaders while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead organizational change, transformation, integration, and growth initiatives.
- Maintain strong knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare revenue cycle operations, insurance billing, reimbursement, payer regulations, and provider contract language.
- Ensure appropriate compliance, policies, procedures, training, and operational standards are maintained.
- Represent Revenue Recovery and Denials in executive leadership and cross-functional initiatives.
- Support strategic planning, acquisitions, integrations, and other corporate initiatives.
- Perform other duties as required to support EnableComp’s strategic objectives.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle, revenue recovery, denials, collections, hospital finance, managed care, or related experience.
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing multiple teams, functions, products, or business lines.
- Demonstrated experience leading revenue recovery, denials, appeals, collections, Zero Balance, or related healthcare financial operations.
- Proven experience with financial ownership, including revenue forecasting, budgeting, profitability, and margin management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies that drive measurable revenue, recovery, and profitability improvements.
- Experience leading large, complex organizations through managers and senior leaders.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Finance, Sales, Client Success, and Operations.
- Strong understanding of hospital revenue cycle, payer behavior, reimbursement methodologies, healthcare financials, and provider contract language.
- Strong analytical, strategic, communication, problem-solving, and executive leadership skills.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Travel: 0–20%, as business needs require.
