Job Summary
To support a strategic strain collection transfer project, we are looking for two Laboratory Technicians to join our Food Protection R&D team in Brabrand, Denmark, for a fixed-term period of 12 months. In this role, you will contribute to the duplication, verification, documentation, and transfer of a large microbial strain collection. Working closely with scientists and laboratory technicians, you will help ensure that our valuable cultures are preserved, accurately documented, and transferred according to the highest quality standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with microbial collections, biobanking practices, and laboratory quality systems while supporting an important business continuity initiative.
What You Will Do
- Prepare, propagate, and preserve bacterial, yeast, and fungal cultures using established laboratory procedures.
- Support the duplication of microbial strains to ensure long-term security and preservation.
- Prepare growth media, reagents, cryovials, and other laboratory consumables.
- Maintain accurate records in laboratory databases and documentation systems.
- Ensure full traceability of strain-related activities and sample movements.
- Assist with inventory management, labeling, packaging, and transfer preparations.
- Analyze and document results and communicate progress to project stakeholders.
- Ensure safe, structured, and compliant laboratory operations at all times.
Responsibility level in all tasks will depend on your prior experience and competencies.
What Makes You the Right Fit
- You have an education as a Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Technologist, Professional Bachelor, or similar qualification within microbiology, biotechnology, or life sciences.
- Experience with microbiological cultivation techniques and aseptic laboratory practices is preferred.
- Experience working with microbial culture collections, cryopreservation, or biobanking is an advantage but not required.
- You are professionally proficient in both English and Danish. Proficiency in German would be an advantage.
- You have good IT skills and are comfortable working with databases and Microsoft Office applications.
- You work systematically and pay close attention to detail.
- You can work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with colleagues.
- You possess strong planning and organizational skills and thrive in a project-oriented environment.
- You have a positive and proactive mindset and enjoy learning new skills.
