Location:
Crown Beverage Packaging located in La Crosse, WI has 111 employees. Surrounded by stunning bluffs and lying alongside the mighty Mississippi River, La Crosse is home to over 20 miles of beautiful scenic trails. The plant is also located just minutes from the historic downtown which hosts unique shops, lively entertainment, museums, art galleries and more. La Crosse is close to major highways such as I-94 and the approximate distance from the La Crosse Airport is about 7 minutes.
Position Overview:
Under direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, Tractor Operator will secure shipping order for cans and other materials, in addition to the below responsibilities.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
Secure shipping order for cans and other materials.
Check type and quality of cans, and other materials against shipping order.
Manipulate tractor controls and drive loaded tractor to transport materials, supplies, and finished product from location to location as directed.
Load and unload freight cars and trucks for shipment and storage.
Check record and incoming shipments as required.
Prepare palletized loads for storage and shipment.
Transport from lines, loading and unloading docks, or storage, pallets, cans, packaging materials, etc.
Open freight cars and position dock loading plate
Check tickets on load against production to ensure correct delivery.
Store coil stock in assigned storage areas.
Load coil stock on production lines as needed.
Assist in loading, unloading, or moving of machinery and other materials.
Maintain necessary records, checklists, and forms.
Keep equipment clean.
Qualifications:
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
1-2 year(s) experience in inspecting/packaging and/or high speed manufacturing is preferred
Must possess a mechanical aptitude
Must be available to work 12 hour shifts, rotating 4 days on/4 days off schedule which may fall on holidays, weekends, or nights as business needs

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
The team member frequently is required to climb or balance
The team member is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Generally works in a manufacturing environment
While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures especially in the summer and winter months
The noise level is frequently loud
