Job Description

The Portfolio Manager will oversee the financial planning, forecasting, governance, and reporting of a large technology portfolio. This role partners with Finance, Engineering, and Product leaders to manage portfolio investments, funding strategies, and financial performance, with a strong focus on Clarity PPM, CapEx/OpEx management, and portfolio forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technology portfolio investments, budgets, and financial performance across multiple projects.
  • Create and maintain projects in Clarity PPM, including resource allocations, time reporting, and financial setup.
  • Develop and maintain monthly CapEx and OpEx forecasts and investment plans.
  • Monitor actuals, analyze variances, and provide forecasting updates to leadership.
  • Track portfolio spend and funding against approved budgets and targets.
  • Prepare executive and investment committee reporting on portfolio health and financial performance.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Finance teams to support portfolio planning and decision-making.
  • Drive portfolio governance processes, including forecasting cycles, funding approvals, and financial reviews.

Basic Qualifications
-Typically requires Bachelor’s degree with three to five or more years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Extensive Clarity PPM experience, including Projects module, project setup, resource management, time reporting, cost plans, forecasting, and actuals tracking.
  • Technology Portfolio Management experience supporting large-scale IT portfolios.
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in CapEx, OpEx, project funding, and spend forecasting.
  • Proven experience managing large project investments and portfolio budgets.
  • Deep understanding of capital vs. expense accounting and labor capitalization principles.
  • Experience performing financial analysis, variance reporting, and forecast reconciliation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven mindset.
  • Experience leading work within an Agile framework.
  • Agile certification or demonstrated Agile delivery leadership.
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
  • Strong collaboration, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience supporting engineering and product organizations in a portfolio management capacity.

Location expectations 
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $98,175.00 - $115,500.00
