Supervisor – Car Repair

Starting Salary: $64,000/year (Higher salary available depending on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Field Operations Supervisor to lead and manage field crews supporting derailment response, railcar repair, load adjustment/transfer, and track maintenance and construction projects.
This role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, maintaining high-quality standards, and delivering exceptional service to railroad customers and regulatory stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and assign daily work to field crews.
Lead safety briefings and enforce PPE, FRA, DOT, and company safety standards.
Oversee project execution, including hands-on field work and equipment operation.
Maintain effective communication with customers and regulatory agencies.
Submit accurate payroll, equipment usage, and project reports.
Train, coach, and evaluate team members.
Prepare job quotes covering labor, equipment, and logistics.
Monitor equipment condition and ensure operational readiness.
Ensure field activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of railroad industry experience.
Knowledge of DOT, FRA, and applicable safety regulations.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
Valid driver's license; CDL Class A or B preferred.
Experience operating heavy equipment, including cranes, excavators, and similar equipment.
Ability to read and interpret load charts.
Understanding of rigging practices and requirements.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, walking on uneven terrain, and working extended hours.
Ability to work in fast-paced field environments and respond to changing operational needs.
