Sobre este puesto de Strategic Planning Senior Advisor - Evernorth en The Cigna Group

The Cigna Group · Presencial · St. Louis, MO

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Strategic Planning Senior Advisor is a strategy leader and hands-on execution partner responsible for informing the development and direction of strategic engagement programs, including Patient Advisory Boards (PABs), Client and Consultant Advisory Boards, Outcomes, executive engagement programs, sponsorship activations, and other priority experiences.

As a member of the Strategic Planning organization, the Senior Advisor will translate business priorities into clear program strategies, engagement objectives, meeting approaches, and measures of success. The role will proactively identify opportunities to increase the strategic value of these programs, rather than solely coordinating activities or responding to stakeholder requests.

The Senior Advisor will lead program planning from strategy through execution, partnering closely with the Events Center of Excellence and other functional teams that own event logistics and production. This role will maintain focus on strategic intent, audience and stakeholder needs, executive readiness, insight generation, business outcomes, and continuous improvement.

The Senior Advisor reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Planning and serves as a trusted thought partner to leaders across Strategic Planning, Sales, Account Management, Marketing, Product, Clinical, Events, and executive leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Program Development & Leadership

  • Lead the development of program strategies that define the business purpose, target audiences, desired outcomes, engagement model, and measures of success.

  • Connect engagement programs to broader Enterprise and PBS strategic priorities and ensure each program has a clear value proposition and strategic narrative.

  • Proactively recommend program enhancements, new engagement opportunities, and changes in approach based on business needs, stakeholder input, participant feedback, and program performance.

  • Develop annual and multi-program roadmaps, priorities, governance models, and decision frameworks that focus resources on the highest-value opportunities.

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to leadership, bringing forward insights, recommendations, tradeoffs, and decisions needed to advance program objectives.

Advisory Board Strategy & Program Leadership

  • Shape the strategy and engagement model for Patient, Client, and Consultant Advisory Board programs, including objectives, participant profile, content focus, cadence, and channels for ongoing engagement.

  • Partner with business and strategy leaders to build agendas and discussion approaches that address priority questions and generate meaningful, decision-ready insight.

  • Lead the end-to-end PAB operating model, including participant recruitment, screening, onboarding, engagement, compensation and reimbursement, retention, and experience management.

  • Guide the synthesis of patient, client, and consultant feedback into themes, implications, and actionable recommendations for business and product leaders.

  • Maintain program plans, participant records, engagement metrics, risks, decisions, and reporting to support strong governance and continued program evolution.

Executive Engagement Programs & Priority Experiences

  • Inform the strategic development of Outcomes, VIP client engagements, sponsorship activations, and other executive or customer programs by defining the audience strategy, engagement goals, content approach, and intended business outcomes.

  • Partner with leaders to design meeting strategies, executive touchpoints, experiences, and follow-up plans that strengthen relationships and advance business priorities.

  • Develop executive briefing materials, discussion guides, strategic narratives, decision points, and post-program summaries tailored to senior and external audiences.

  • Coordinate across Strategic Planning, Events, Sales, Account Management, Marketing, Product, Clinical, and other partners to translate strategy into an integrated execution plan.

  • Clarify ownership and decision rights across teams, with the Events Center of Excellence and other partners leading logistics and production within their areas of expertise.

Program Execution, Governance & Accountability

  • Own integrated program plans that connect strategy, content, stakeholder readiness, logistics dependencies, timelines, decisions, risks, and deliverables.

  • Drive cross-functional accountability, surface issues early, facilitate decisions, and escalate risks that could affect strategic objectives or participant experience.

  • Ensure communications, materials, leadership preparation, and follow-up activities reinforce the program strategy and intended outcomes.

  • Create and maintain scalable operating processes, planning tools, governance routines, playbooks, and executive asset libraries across programs.

  • Balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution to ensure high-quality delivery without losing focus on the program purpose and desired impact.

Insights, Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish success measures and feedback mechanisms that assess engagement quality, insight generation, stakeholder value, follow-through, and business impact.

  • Track outcomes, commitments, and follow-up actions to ensure insights generated through programs translate into decisions and actions.

  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback to identify themes, opportunities, and implications for program strategy, products, services, and customer engagement.

  • Provide leadership with concise reporting on program performance, lessons learned, strategic recommendations, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Use insights across programs to strengthen future strategy, elevate participant and executive experiences, and improve enterprise value.

Stakeholder Partnership & Influence

  • Build trusted relationships with internal leaders, external participants, clients, consultants, and cross-functional partners.

  • Influence without authority and align diverse stakeholders around shared objectives, roles, decisions, and measures of success.

  • Navigate ambiguity and competing priorities while maintaining strategic focus, transparency, and momentum.

  • Represent Strategic Planning as a credible, proactive partner who brings structure, perspective, and solutions to complex engagement opportunities.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Strategy, Marketing, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in strategy, strategic planning, program leadership, healthcare, customer or executive engagement, advisory programs, or related disciplines.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategy and translate it into executable program plans, governance, measures, and outcomes.

  • Experience leading complex, high-visibility, cross-functional programs with senior leader and external stakeholder involvement.

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to connect program objectives to broader enterprise priorities.

  • Ability to synthesize feedback, research, and business context into clear insights, implications, and actionable recommendations.

  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, including development of strategic narratives, executive briefings, discussion guides, dashboards, and recommendations.

  • Advanced project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, risks, dependencies, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence without authority, facilitate decisions, and drive accountability across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to execution excellence.

  • Healthcare, PBS, client engagement, advisory board, executive engagement, or experiential program experience preferred.
