Sobre este puesto de Sr. Embedded Software Engineer en Tomorrow.io
Tomorrow.io’s Space & Sensors team is responsible for the development of unique RF-based sensing systems, such as radar, from architecture through implementation. The team is also responsible for the development of corresponding spacecraft and constellations in support of Tomorrow.io’s Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our existing forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.
We are looking for a passionate Senior Embedded Software Engineer who enjoys designing and delivering reliable, high-performance software for complex embedded and user systems. As a member of the Space and Sensors software team, you will develop embedded and application software in C++ and Rust for Tomorrow.io’s software defined radar system and weather satellite constellation. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build software that integrates payload and spacecraft subsystems into our numerical weather prediction (NWP) system. The work you do will enable real-time configuration of and data acquisition from radar hardware. Your contributions will help make sure we are building the best weather platform in the world.
What You’ll Do
- Develop mission-critical software applications
- Design, implement, and test embedded and user applications in C++ and Rust that support configuration, command, control, and interface functionality for SoC-based radar payload platforms, enabling mission operations for Tomorrow.io’s software defined radar system and weather satellite constellation.
- Design and implement software interfaces for payload and mission operations
- Design and implement robust software components and interfaces that connect ConOps processors, payload controllers, and payload subsystems, enabling coordinated spacecraft and sensor operations.
- Deliver reliable and maintainable embedded software solutions
- Deliver reliable, maintainable software by writing well-structured, testable C++ and Rust code, contributing to scalable software architecture and long-term system maintainability.
- Integrate application software with spacecraft and payload systems
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and systems engineering teams to integrate application software with embedded platforms, payload electronics, and spacecraft subsystems.
What You Bring
- 6+ years of experience developing embedded software in C/C++ and/or Rust, including writing reliable, maintainable application-level code for embedded systems.
- Strong experience developing software for embedded systems, including familiarity with embedded Linux (i.e. Yocto Project, PetaLinux, or Buildroot) and RTOS (i.e. FreeRTOS or Zephyr).
- Experience developing software for ARM/FPGA-based SoC platforms (such as Xilinx Zynq or similar architectures) for mission-critical applications (i.e. automotive, medical, or aerospace).
- Experience interfacing software with embedded systems and low-level interfaces, including familiarity with communication buses such as I2C, SPI, CAN, and AXI.
- Experience debugging and diagnosing issues across software, firmware, and hardware boundaries, including working with embedded debugging tools and system telemetry.
So, if your passion is to contribute to the design of cutting edge next-generation radar software to provide weather intelligence to the world, and have fun while doing so, then this team is for you.
