Co-Development Business Unit is hiring for Software Quality Engineer
You will work in Singapore Government Agencies
This is a fixed term contract role. The engagement is 12 months
What will you do?

We are seeking talented and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineers / Quality Engineers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in functional automation, regression testing, and quality processes, with a passion for ensuring high reliability across complex distributed systems.
- Work closely with a cross-functional agile team consisting of Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure end-to-end quality.
- Write, maintain, and execute regression test suites in JavaScript/TypeScript using Playwright across React.js frontends and NestJS backends.
- Build and integrate automated Playwright tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) to enable continuous testing and fast feedback loops.
- Manage test environments, container testing setups, and database state (handling data dumps and mock data) for test run execution and environment resets.
- Collaborate with government agencies to deliver high-quality, reliable, and secure software systems.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies, tech-sharing, and quality engineering solutioning sessions.
Requirements
What are we looking for?
- Experience testing reasonably large, high-availability software systems operating at scale built with React.js on the frontend and NestJS on the backend.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript for writing automated regression test scripts.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end (E2E) web and API regression automation.
- Experience writing and maintaining automated test scripts integrated directly into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work with database dumps and mock data for environment setups, data validation, and database testing (SQL and NoSQL such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB).
- Hands-on experience with container testing and managing test environments using Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP for test environment deployment and execution.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and log analysis tools (e.g., ELK stack, AWS CloudWatch, or Splunk).
- Experience in designing, building, and executing performance test suites (load, stress, spike, and endurance/soak testing) targeting HTTP APIs.
- Hands-on experience using k6 (or similar tools like Locust/Gatling) deployed on AWS EC2 or integrated into CI/CD pipelines to send automated API test traffic.
- Experience managing performance test data lifecycles, including generating synthetic test data and utilizing database snapshots for setup and environment resets between runs.
- Familiarity with analyzing system performance metrics (latency/response time, P95/P99 percentiles, throughput, error rates, and resource utilization like CPU, Memory, Network, and File I/O).
- Understanding of basic database performance factors such as indexes, connection pooling, and database locks.
- Experience using observability and monitoring tools (Kibana / ELK stack, AWS CloudWatch, Container Insights) to analyze performance test reports and diagnose system bottlenecks.
