The Assurance Data Platform team builds and operates the foundational data infrastructure that powers analytics, machine learning, AI, and customer-facing intelligence across the organization. Our work enables research and engineering teams to reliably ingest, discover, govern, process, and use data at scale, making the platform a critical part of the company’s broader technology and product strategy. The team operates with a builder mindset—solving complex infrastructure challenges while creating reusable capabilities that accelerate teams across the organization. Your Impact  

You will build next-generation data, analytics, machine learning, and AI platforms that power network assurance capabilities across ThousandEyes and the broader Cisco organization. Design, implement, and operate scalable data infrastructure, automated pipelines, shared datasets, and analytics tools used by Reserach, Analytics and Engineering teams. Develop reliable and reusable platform capabilities that enable teams to process large volumes of data efficiently, accelerate product development, and support intelligent customer-facing applications. Collaborate with engineers, product leaders, data scientists, and cross-functional partners to translate ambiguous business and technical requirements into secure, stable, and production-ready solutions. Drive measurable success by improving platform reliability, data accessibility, developer productivity, and the speed at which Cisco can deliver AI-powered network assurance experiences. 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics) OR 2+ years of equivalent practical engineering experience. 

• 2+ years of professional experience writing production-grade code in Python. 

• 2+ years of experience with dimensional data modelling, schema design, and production database operations (e.g., SQL query tuning, MySQL, MongoDB). 

• 2+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines using big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Presto) and ETL tools (e.g., Airflow). 

• Professional experience deploying data architectures within cloud environments, specifically the AWS ecosystem (e.g., S3, EMR, Glue, Redshift, EC2). 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Master’s degree (MS) in quantitative discipline. 

• Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary or cross-functional teams. 

• Strong mindset for automation, instrumentation, and data quality monitoring. 

• Experience building next-generation platforms specifically for machine learning, AI, or network analytics.
