Job Summary
As a Shipper, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring customer orders and transfers are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on time.
In this role, you'll work closely with our Traffic Department and cross-functional teams to coordinate shipments, manage transportation logistics, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. As a key point of contact for customers and drivers, you'll represent IPEX with professionalism while helping maintain our high standards of service and quality.
Principal Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assign orders as they are released, considering delivery timelines and destination requirements
- Maintain picking sequences based on order priority and warehouse zoning to support efficient operations
- Manage and prioritize urgent shipments and customer pick-ups
- Utilize our Transportation Management System (TMS) to select the most effective carrier solutions
- Dispatch orders and transfers in accordance with IPEX service and quality standards.
- Monitor and track shipments through phone and online systems
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates on orders and deliveries
- Serve as the primary contact for drivers and customer pick-ups at the shipping desk
- Prepare and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) accurately and efficiently, ensuring all documentation is complete
- Maintain organized and compliant records and filing systems, including BOLs, Sales Orders, RMAs, and other transportation documents in accordance with C-TPAT requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- College diploma or degree, and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar shipping, logistics, or transportation role
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
