Role :

At Sun Life you will work as a developer within the team. In this role you will be working closely with onshore IT teams using iterative development methodologies. The individual will use his/her knowledge of design, development, information security and IT architecture best practices to ensure delivery of robust applications that follow architectural processes and direction.

Your scope of work/Key responsibilities:

• Work as part of a diverse team to deliver client centered solutions
• Communicate effectively with SMs, BSAs, designers and developers to solve technical issues and problems
• Learn about our internal clients’ business, existing applications, the infrastructure that supports them and the design patterns used
• Provide development and infrastructure estimates at various levels of a project to match the architectural solution
• Ensure SLF Information Security Policies are compiled to in any solution
• Design, develop, support, and/or test advanced technology solutions that are high-quality, innovative, efficient, secure, creative, scalable, adaptable, dynamic, fully performing and comply with all standards and best practices in support of business and Client outcomes and objectives
• Execute full software and product development life cycle (SDLC) and influence continuous improvements
• Develop advanced deliverables to deliver technical solution(s) seeking business and Client feedback
• Write advanced well-designed, testable, flexible, and scalable code and/or technology solutions
• Integrate advanced software components into a fully functional software system
• Develop advanced software verification (testing) plans and quality assurance procedures
• Document and maintain advanced technical solution functionality
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
• Deploy advanced programs and evaluate business and Client feedback
• Ensure software is updated with latest features
• Participate in code reviews, ability to approve medium features, and validate vulnerability fixes

We require someone with/Key experience:

• 8-11 years of progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experience.
• Experience in development of complex systems (e.g. - Web/Windows application and windows services) based on .Net/.Net Core framework.
• Aware of the Software Development Life Cycle and Quality concepts.
• Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Technologies:
  • Must have - .Net, .Net Core
  • Good to have - API, REST API, JS, React JS.
• Database: MS SQL Server Management Studio
• Knowledge of DevOps Tools: Azure DevOps Server (TFS with GIT), JFrog Artifactory, CDD, Ansible, SonarQube, GIT, GITHUB, Bit Bucket.
• Ability to apply advanced testing skills, tools/frameworks, techniques, processes, and principles to software solutions in support of defect management, automation, diagnosis and reporting in a simple production environment; writes and executes test plans.
• Effectively utilize multiple software development and deployment methodologies, processes, development best practices and DevOps/DevSecOps principles.
• Understanding of application security and security best practices.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
