Job Title: Senior Quantitative Insight Executive / Senior research Executive (SRE)  
Location: London, UK (Hybrid; 2 days in the office per week) 

Beano Brain, a leading kid, youth and family insights agency, is hiring for an experienced Senior Commercial Insight Executive from a quantitative research background to join the team in our London office on Fleet Street. Beano Brain is part of the DC Thomson media and publishing company.

This an opportunity for a senior research executive who is looking to own client relationships and smaller projects while working alongside a content team. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to thought leadership and brainstorming the next big thing.  

No two days are the same at Beano Brain! The Senior Commercial Insight Executive will support the senior Beano Brain insight team on delivering thought provoking and business transforming insight work for larger clients / global projects.  

Key responsibilities include: 

Fieldwork management  
To manage and co-ordinate client insight projects, working closely with the wider team: 

  • liaising with sample and survey scripting partners in the UK and globally 
  • including cost collation, helping prepare research proposals, project set up, local partner/ supplier management 
  • briefing external suppliers 
  • monitoring survey progress 

Bespoke Quantitative research projects  

  • You will take part in client meetings and be part of the briefing and proposal process 
  • You will feed into the design of insight projects, with guidance from line manager 
  • Including drafting discrete parts of client proposals 
  • You will support in the preparation, management and carrying out of quality ad hoc research, from initiation to completion 
  • Including drafting questionnaires, checking survey links, updating clients on progress, creating data tables 
  • You will help to draft insightful, persuasive and action inspiring presentations, working closely with the senior project team 
  • You will provide support in analysis and writing debriefs, both single & multi market, creating persuasive and action inspiring presentations 
  • You will help present insights to Beano Brain clients with support from the senior team 

Quantitative research to support Beano Brain’s Thought Leadership  

You will create, collate, review, report and catalogue regular research questions and surveys that Beano Brain runs to support our thought leadership driven growth strategy, ensuring questions are designed to be child-appropriate.  

  • You will prepare, present and support on quantitative findings and recommendations to Beano Studios and commercial clients alike 
  • You will work closely with the Beano Brain team to support the Digital, the Content and the Consumer Product teams with current, relevant quantitatively derived insights.  

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

Essential 

  • Demonstrable experience on segmentation projects 
  • Previous use or exposure to Conjoint, MaxDiff or similar analysis software 
  • Experience of using statistical analysis software, such as SPSS, or ideally Q or DisplayR is preferred (www.qresearchsoftware.com
  • Data analytics - Applies analytical methods to interpret quantitative research data, identify patterns and produce evidence that supports client and business decisions. Uses judgement to test findings, understand limitations and turn data into meaningful insight. 
  • Market research - Plans and supports market research activity, including questionnaire development, fieldwork management, supplier coordination and reporting. Applies research methods that are appropriate for kids, teens, families, client objectives and commercial use. 
  • Project management - Manages defined research projects and workstreams from set-up to completion. Plans activity, tracks progress, coordinates suppliers, manages risks and keeps stakeholders informed so that work is delivered to agreed standards. 
  • Stakeholder relationship management - Builds effective working relationships with clients, suppliers, senior insight colleagues and internal teams. Communicates clearly, manages expectations, supports client confidence and escalates issues before they affect delivery or trust. 
  • Data visualisation - Presents data and findings in a clear, accessible and audience-appropriate way. Supports the creation of client debriefs, charts, tables and visual evidence that help stakeholders understand the story in the data. 
  • Artificial intelligence and data ethics - Uses approved AI and data-enabled tools responsibly. Understands the importance of data confidentiality, ethical research practice, accuracy, bias checking and human review when using AI or automation to support insight work. 
  • Strategic planning - Contributes insight, evidence and analysis that support client and business planning. Helps connect research findings to commercial priorities, audience needs and future opportunities for Beano Brain and its clients. 

Desired

  • Educated to degree level (preferable but not essential) 
  • Experience working with kids and teens 
  • Expertise in specific area of youth culture and/ or families  
  • Experience working on multi-market projects, especially the US 
  • Experience working on mixed quant/ qual projects aimed at children and / or youth
