Sobre este puesto de Senior Python Developer, AWS Serverless en OpenDataJobs
Peregrine Advisors is a firm founded on a simple conviction: the best solutions come from the people closest to the problem, given real ownership and the tools to deliver. We are a data and technology innovation hub and a Benefit Corporation working at the center of the federal government's mission to deliver for client stakeholders and the US public, looking for highly motivated contributors who thrive when trusted to own a hard problem and equipped to deliver the solution.
Your first assignment
In your first assignment, you will own the technical design and delivery of a defined application or solution area. You will make the design decisions that connect its components, guide their implementation, and take responsibility for the quality of the integrated solution through production. The work may include:
- Leading feature work on an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-native stack, with ownership of user stories from refinement through production.
- Directing the build of serverless, event-driven application workflows on Lambda and Step Functions.
- Owning how commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products integrate with the larger system frameworks built in-house.
- Designing and shipping the application programming interface (API) connections that modern system architectures rest on.
- Leading the data and document pipelines that automate manual, paper-heavy work.
Adaptability and a demonstrated ability to learn new concepts, systems, and tools will keep you ahead of program needs as projects finish and priorities shift.
The work is real and hard, and it matters. This first assignment is a starting point, not the shape of your career here. We hire people, not seats, and move our best to where the hardest problems are.
What you'll build
- Modern cloud-native systems that create exceptional business value through streamlined, automated operation.
- An integrated application or solution area whose components work together reliably, with tested code you help build and a consistent quality bar across the work.
- Automation that replaces the manual validations, checks, and workflows that once lived in somebody's spreadsheet.
- The delivery path itself, with pipelines and automated tests you build and maintain rather than merely use.
- Artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted development as the default way of working, with you setting the pattern for tools such as Amazon Q Developer.
- Developers who improve through working alongside you.
- And over time, the firm itself, through the new capabilities, tools, and lines of business you help launch.
Who you are
You take personal ownership of what you build. Everything around you improves as a result: the code, the tests, and the people. Hard calls come to you because you make them well and without drama. When priorities shift, you keep the team steady and productive. You communicate clearly, adapt across roles and clients, and care about creating public value. You experiment, learn from failure, and try again quickly. You would rather own an outcome than simply be given a task.
What you bring
- Deep command of modern cloud development, with the range to develop something new or improve what already runs.
- Strong delivery habits in version control, automated testing, code review, secure coding, and accessibility, with the standing to set those habits for a team.
- The judgment to choose among competing solution approaches, resolve design tradeoffs across components, and take responsibility for the technical direction of your assigned area.
- The ability to explain your work plainly to the people who depend on it and to listen carefully to what they need.
- Precision in work where accuracy and auditability are not optional.
What you'll need
Sole United States citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination are required for this initial engagement. This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and it requires commuting into DC regularly. Everything else, including the years, certifications, and specific tools, we ask in the application and discuss during the interview.
What we offer
A high-performing team of developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists solving complex, real-world problems, with work that runs from strategy formulation to hands-on implementation. We develop people across roles and clients, with extensive onboarding and sponsored training and professional development. And Peregrine has been a Benefit Corporation from day one: public value is built into the work itself, not bolted on afterward. Work worth your best years.
What we commit to
As a Benefit Corporation, our commitment runs three ways: real, measurable value for our clients; government that works better for the public; and a team that makes everyone in it better.
We hire people who want to help build the firm, not just work at it. If that is you, apply.
