As part of its development Volton strengthens its human resources in Athens and seeks for a Senior Project Manager (Operations).
The PMO Senior Manager is responsible for the overall strategic and operational oversight of the company’s Project Management Office (PMO).
The role ensures the alignment of projects with the company’s strategic direction and business priorities, the effective implementation of project governance, the consistent application of methodologies and standards, and the timely escalation of risks, dependencies, and deviations to Management.
The position reports to the Operations Director, the PMO Senior Manager acts as a key link between Management, business units, and Project Teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall oversight and strategic management of the Project Portfolio
- Design and implement the Project Governance Framework, establishing clear processes, roles, KPIs, and reporting standards
- Support Management in the evaluation and prioritisation of new projects and strategic initiatives
- Guide and support Project Managers across planning, execution, risk management, and delivery
- Monitor project performance in terms of time, cost, resources, scope, risks, and expected business value
- Provide consolidated reporting and actionable insights to Management
- Identify bottlenecks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities, and drive corrective actions
- Optimise resource allocation and utilisation at portfolio level
- Promote best practices, standardisation, and continuous improvement across project delivery
- Oversee the BPM Analyst and ensure the effective translation of business requirements and process improvement opportunities into project initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Significant experience in PMO, Project Management, Project Portfolio Management, or Business Transformation, with proven experience in managing complex and cross-functional projects
- Strong knowledge of Project Governance, Portfolio Management, and Executive Reporting, with the ability to effectively collaborate with senior management and multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, combined with a structured and results-oriented approach
- Knowledge of PRINCE2 or PMI / PMBOK methodologies will be considered an advantage
- Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, as well as Billing / Invoicing systems
- Knowledge of Business Process Management (BPM), process optimisation, Project / Portfolio Management, and Business Intelligence tools
- Experience in digital or operational transformation initiatives will be considered an asset
- Κnowledge of the electricity market will be considered a strong advantage
