Job Description:

Leads the Quality Engineering and Intelligent Automation capabilities for the India Technology organization, while serving as a strategic partner to global technology teams, driving product quality, engineering excellence and business process automation across multiple technology and business domains.
Responsible for defining and executing the strategy for test automation, quality engineering practices, robotic process automation, and intelligent workflow optimization. Oversees delivery execution, resource planning, capability development, governance and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with Engineering, Product and Business stakeholders.

The role reporting to Engineering Leader in India, manages two specialized teams - Quality Engineering and RPA - and is accountable for improving release quality, accelerating delivery velocity, reducing operational effort and increasing business efficiency through automation.

Quality Engineering Leadership
● Define and execute the enterprise Quality Engineering strategy across digital, enterprise applications, integration and platform initiatives.
● Lead testing engagements across multiple programs and portfolios including functional, integration, regression, performance and non functional testing.
● Drive adoption of shift left testing practices and quality ownership across engineering and enterprise applications.
● Establish quality governance , release readiness criteria, defect management processes, and quality metrics.
● Drive adoption and maturity of test automation frameworks and CI/CD quality gates,
● Develop and maintain enterprise test strategies, plans, environments and trolling standards.
● Partner with global leader and Engineering and Product leaders to proactively identify quality risks and mitigation plans.
● Drive a follow-the-sun delivery model across geographies to improve responsiveness, release velocity, and operational efficiency.
● Facilitate knowledge sharing and capability development across global teams to ensure consistency in quality engineering and automation practices.
● Establish KPIs including automation coverage, defect leakage, escaped defects, release stability and test cycle efficiency.

Robotic Process Automation Leadership
● Define and execute the enterprise RPA and intelligent automation roadmap aligned to business priorities and cost optimization goals.
● Lead identification, prioritization and delivery of automation opportunities across business and technology functions.
● Establish and govern the RPA Center of Excellence, standards, frameworks, and delivery methodologies.
● Manage the lifecycle of automation initiatives from ideation through production support and optimization.
● Partner with business stakeholders to build automation pipelines and quantify business value realization.
● Drive adoption of AI-enabled automation capabilities including document processing, workflow automation, and intelligent decisioning where appropriate.
● Ensure operational stability, governance, security and compliance of deployed automation solutions.
● Establish KPIs including hours saved, productivity gains, automation utilization, bot stability, and return on investment.

People Leadership
● Lead, mentor, and develop high performing QA and RPA teams.
● Build capability roadmaps and career growth for team members.
● Drive hiring, workforce planning, succession planning, and capability development.
● Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, ownership and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Management
● In partnership with Engineering leader in India, align with Engineering, Product, Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure and Business leaders on priorities and roadmaps.
● Partner with global teams to evaluate and adopt next generation capabilities including AI-assisted testing, intelligent automation and Gen-AI driven productivity initiatives.
● Manage global stakeholder relationships across delivery and operations teams.
● Communicate delivery status, risks, value realization and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
● Influence global roadmaps by bringing innovation, productivity improvements, and emerging technology solutions.

Required Qualifications (must have):
● Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
● 12+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software testing, Automation or Intelligent Automation domains.
● 5+ years of experience leading large distributed teams and managing people managers.
● Strong experience building and scaling quality engineering organizations.

● Hands-on understanding of test automation frameworks, CI/CD practices, and modern engineering methodologies.
● Strong experience delivering enterprise RPA solutions using platforms such as UIPath, Automation Anywhere, or similar technologies.
● Have actively participated in managing change requests, define the scope of change delivery and schedule.
● Experience establishing or operating an Intelligent Automation/RPA Center of Excellence.
● Strong stakeholder management experience across large scale transformation programs.
● Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and capacity planning.
● Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves):
● Experience with AI-enabled automation and Generative AI use cases.
● Experience in retail, eCommerce or Omnichannel environments.
● Experience with Cloud-native applications, microservices architecture and API testing.
● Certifications in UIPath, Automation Anywhere, ISTQB or related disciplines.
