Sport & Games Delivery — Press Ops | Reports to: Sr. Director of Press Operations

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions. If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application — we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.

Role Purpose

The Main Press Center is where thousands of accredited journalists will report the story of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As Senior Manager, you will establish it from the ground up, shaping its layout, services, and operating model before the Games. You will coordinate designers, construction partners, and internal teams so every system is ready before the world arrives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end venue planning and spatial design for the Main Press Center, serving as primary liaison with third-party designers and venue construction teams so all media infrastructure meets requirements.

  • Integrate press services across the organization by partnering with Transportation, Security, Technology, and Accreditation teams and with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

  • Develop the facility's standard operating procedures, lead readiness activities, track project milestones, and mitigate delivery risks before they escalate.

  • Direct daily Main Press Center operations during the Games, resolving issues in real time for thousands of accredited global media.

  • Recruit, train, and lead a collaborative team of professional staff, international specialists, and volunteers.

Required Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 7+ years supporting large-scale event planning, venue operations, or facilities coordination.

  • Proven experience with basic construction, venue fit-out, or overlay processes, particularly planning spatial requirements and technical service installations.

  • Demonstrated experience leading, training, and managing diverse teams of staff and volunteers in demanding, time-critical delivery environments.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with a track record of building excellent relationships across external partners, consultants, and internal departments.

  • Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization that requires coordination across multiple functional areas.

Valued Experience

  • Proficiency with modern project management, planning, and collaborative tools.

  • Experience planning or operating major media facilities for international multi-sport events.

  • Multilingual capability or extensive experience in diverse, international environments.

  • Familiarity with the requirements of international sports governing bodies or major event properties.

What We Offer

  • A historic, once-in-a-career opportunity to help deliver the first Los Angeles Summer Games in 32 years and the city's first Paralympic Games.

  • Real ownership and visible impact, plus broad exposure across functions and global partners, building transferable skills.

  • Teammates who take pride in demanding work worth doing, in a culture of collaboration and shared success.

What This Role Means for the Games

  • The Main Press Center is the workplace for the world's media and a front door to the Games. By making it work, you help ensure that every story, athlete moment, and record reaches audiences everywhere, turning careful planning into a seamless experience for the people who tell the Olympic and Paralympic story.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.

  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.

  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.

  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.

  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $140,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role.
