Meet the Team 

The Cisco Wireless Feature & System Engineering team builds end-to-end wireless capabilities across access points, controllers, and cloud-managed platforms. We design features that span device software, control planes, and management systems to deliver seamless, secure, and high-performance enterprise Wi-Fi.

Your Impact 

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will lead development of key software components and subsystems for wireless access points. You will drive design decisions, ensure high-quality implementation, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable and reliable systems.

 In this role:

• Lead design and development of software subsystems and features
• Drive architectural decisions within your area of ownership
• Debug and resolve complex issues across multiple layers (networking, OS, system)
• Collaborate with platform, radio, QA, and cloud teams for system integration
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of the system
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
• Leverage and promote AI-assisted development practices within the team

Minimum Qualifications

• Have 7+ years of experience in embedded or systems software development
• Strong expertise in C/C++ and software design
• Deep understanding of Linux systems and networking protocols (TCP/IP, L2/L3)
• Experience designing and owning subsystems or large features
• Strong debugging skills across system layers
• Ability to influence design and execution across teams
• Interest in system-level optimization and scalability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with wireless systems and Wi-Fi features
• Experience with performance tuning and large-scale deployments
• Familiarity with distributed or cloud-managed systems
• Experience using AI tools to improve development workflows
