A Role with Purpose and Impact

Dev Technology is supporting the modernization of a mission-critical federal scheduling and workflow platform built on the Microsoft ecosystem. This role is responsible for defining a secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise architecture that aligns business needs with the Government's Microsoft-based enterprise environment.

You will work across business, application, data, integration, security, infrastructure, and delivery teams to design solutions leveraging Microsoft Power Platform, Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, and modern .NET technologies. The role requires strong technical judgment, experience evaluating SaaS, PaaS, and hybrid architectures, and a practical commitment to configuration-first solutions while minimizing custom development.

This position is ideal for a senior technical leader who can establish architectural direction, communicate technical tradeoffs to executive and technical stakeholders, and remain engaged throughout implementation to ensure architectural integrity from design through production.

Architecture Leadership and Technical Delivery

This role blends enterprise architecture leadership with hands-on technical guidance. You will:

  • Design end-to-end solution architecture across application, integration, data, security, infrastructure, environments, and deployment
  • Architect Microsoft Power Platform solutions including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power Pages
  • Design scalable Azure-based solutions utilizing Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL, and other Azure Integration Services
  • Define modular system components, APIs, data models, security controls, availability, scalability, and performance strategies
  • Guide configuration and extension of Microsoft SaaS and PaaS capabilities while minimizing custom code
  • Design integrations using REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, Azure Integration Services, .NET services, and enterprise messaging patterns
  • Lead architecture reviews, evaluate design alternatives, and incorporate Government feedback into technical architecture artifacts
  • Collaborate with development teams using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Power Platform custom components when extensions are required

You will remain engaged throughout delivery by reviewing solution designs, application configurations, .NET code, Power Platform implementations, Azure resources, integration approaches, and production readiness activities while ensuring architecture documentation remains current.

Who Thrives Here

Successful architects in this role:

  • Balance enterprise architecture with practical delivery
  • Understand both low-code Power Platform solutions and enterprise software development
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Design secure Microsoft cloud solutions that meet Federal compliance requirements
  • Prefer modular, standards-based, cloud-native architectures over unnecessary customization
  • Partner effectively with infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, application development, and business teams
  • Bring thoughtful leadership to complex technical and modernization initiatives

This position offers the opportunity to shape the Microsoft technology foundation of a mission-critical federal modernization program—from solution architecture and platform design through implementation, integrations, testing, deployment, and long-term operational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise solution architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Design Microsoft Power Platform solutions including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power Pages
  • Architect Azure cloud services and hybrid environments aligned with Government enterprise standards
  • Design .NET-based services, APIs, reusable components, and integration frameworks
  • Define application, data, security, deployment, and role-based access control architectures
  • Design RESTful APIs, Azure API Management policies, authentication, authorization, data validation, exception handling, retry strategies, and messaging patterns
  • Architect integrations with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft Graph, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, SQL Server, and external Government systems
  • Ensure compliance with Federal security requirements including Zero Trust principles, FedRAMP, NIST, and DOJ security standards
  • Define scalable deployment architectures utilizing Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automated release processes
  • Support architecture governance, design reviews, integration testing, performance testing, production readiness, cutover, and operational stabilization
  • Guide solution development teams through architectural decisions while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards
  • Design AI-enabled capabilities using Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, or Azure AI Services so they can be disabled or restricted without impacting mission-critical operations
  • Ensure Government data is protected and not transmitted to external AI services or used for model training without explicit authorization

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies
  • 5+ years serving as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, Application Architect, or Integration Architect
  • Demonstrated experience delivering Microsoft Power Platform, Azure, Dynamics 365, or Microsoft cloud solutions
  • Strong experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power Pages, and Microsoft 365 integrations
  • Experience designing enterprise applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, and SQL Server
  • Experience architecting Azure cloud solutions including App Services, Functions, API Management, Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, Storage, and Azure SQL
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, RBAC, and enterprise identity management
  • Experience designing REST APIs, enterprise integrations, data migration strategies, messaging, and event-driven architectures
  • Experience working within secure Federal, DOJ, or other regulated environments
  • Experience creating architecture diagrams, technical specifications, deployment architectures, and data models
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • AWS or other cloud architecture certifications are a plus
