  • Travel/Location: Remote with up to 25% travel to onsite location in Tallahassee FL

Mission of Role/Position Summary:

This position will provide Salesforce development support for the DEMES platform, including solution development, system enhancements, automation, integration support, defect resolution, testing and deployment, technical debt remediation, and ongoing platform maintenance. The position will support both day-to-day operational needs and continued modernization and expansion of the DEMES Salesforce environment.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions supporting the FDEM DEMES platform.
  • Develop and maintain Salesforce automation using Flow, validation rules, approval processes, and other native platform capabilities.
  • Configure and enhance Salesforce objects, fields, Lightning record pages, permission sets, custom permissions, and security controls.
  • Develop and maintain solutions supporting complex business processes, including grants management, financial, procurement, and other emergency management workflows.
  • Support Salesforce Service Cloud, Public Sector Solutions, and related platform functionality.
  • Develop and support Salesforce integrations, data exchanges, and cross-system workflows.
  • Use SOQL/SOSL and Salesforce data modeling techniques to support application functionality, reporting, and data management requirements.
  • Support deployments across development, QA, UAT, and production environments using Salesforce deployment and release management tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, configuration issues, integration issues, and production support requests.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and translate stakeholder and business requirements into Salesforce solutions.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution, release validation, and production deployments.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize existing configurations, reduce technical debt, and improve platform maintainability and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain solution design, configuration, deployment, and other technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Salesforce Architect, project leadership, technical team members, and business stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture, development standards, data models, security, automation, and integration capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, Salesforce Flow, and Salesforce APIs.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, version control, testing, and deployment practices.
  • Ability to translate business and functional requirements into scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions.
  • Ability to independently develop, test, troubleshoot, debug, and deploy moderately complex Salesforce applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose technical issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Ability to evaluate technical alternatives with consideration for performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, administrators, project managers, business analysts, and end users.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to code quality, documentation, testing, and continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May have lead responsibilities within projects or small teams depending on function with senior level support.

Expected Hours of Work:

Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25% travel is expected for this position.
  • Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands:

  • Mobility required on-site with clients.
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
  • Ability to manipulate up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Working Environment:

  • Emergency management personnel may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
  • All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
  • If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

Requirements

Experience/Education Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience implementing, configuring, developing, or supporting Salesforce solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce configuration and automation, including Flow, Lightning App Builder, validation rules, approval processes, data modeling, and security/permissions.
  • 3-5 year of experience with SOQL/SOSL, Salesforce CLI, Metadata API, or comparable Salesforce development and deployment tools.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting Salesforce solution development, testing, UAT, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • 3-5 years of experience translating business requirements into Salesforce configurations or technical solutions.
  • Salesforce Platform Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I, or comparable Salesforce certification.

Experience/Education Preferred:

  • 5+ years of professional experience supporting Salesforce implementations or enterprise technology solutions.
  • Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud and Public Sector Solutions.
  • Experience with OmniStudio, Omni-Channel, Salesforce Flow, Lightning App Builder, and advanced Salesforce automation.
  • Experience supporting complex Salesforce data models, security models, permissions, routing, and enterprise business processes.
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations, data migration, Salesforce CLI, Metadata API, and structured release management.
  • Experience supporting public-sector, emergency management, grants management, financial management, procurement, or resource management solutions.
  • Experience participating in requirements discovery, business analysis, backlog refinement, Agile delivery, UAT, client demonstrations, and solution documentation.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Platform Administrator, Platform App Builder, OmniStudio Consultant, Platform Developer I, or other relevant Salesforce certifications preferred.
  • Additional cloud or technology certifications are a plus.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US.
  • Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
