Sobre este puesto de S&OP Manager en Stora Enso

Stora Enso · Presencial · Helsinki

We are looking for a proactive S&OP Manager to join our Foodservice and Liquid Board Business Area. In this role, you will play a key part in connecting customer demand, production capabilities, and business value across our Nordic Liquid Packaging Board production network. This is an opportunity to work in a global business environment and contribute to business-critical planning decisions. Ideally, you will be based in one of our key locations: Helsinki or Imatra in Finland, or Skoghall in Sweden.

About the Position

The S&OP Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing Sales & Operations Planning processes across operational and tactical horizons for our Liquid Packaging Board portfolio in the Nordics. This includes developing and executing mid- to long-term plans, balancing supply and demand, and ensuring plans are robust, feasible, and aligned with business priorities. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders from Business, Sales, Mills, and Planning teams to secure smooth information flow and decision-making, as well as frequent interaction with key customers and Customer Service.

You will combine strong analytical skills with business acumen, leveraging data to drive decisions and continuous improvement. Strong SQL and Power BI skills are important for maintaining reporting tools and data integrity that support transparency and efficiency in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the S&OP process, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, and financial targets.
  • Consolidate and communicate the overall production planning outlook across relevant board machines.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI to support decision-making.
  • Utilize data extraction and automation tools (SQL as a minimum requirement; Python is an advantage) to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate proactively with stakeholders to ensure smooth supply chain performance and information flow.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and data quality.
  • Support scenario planning and risk management activities.
  • Partner with Sales in customer planning and demand review discussions, presenting supply/demand data clearly and supporting fact-based alignment with key accounts.
  • Act as a key point of contact for S&OP-related questions and initiatives.

About You

We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • Experience: We expect you to have 3+ years of working experience in S&OP, demand planning, or supply planning roles, ideally within a paper/packaging environment. Prior experience in a similar-sized, matrixed international organization is a plus.
  • Education: Commercial or technical master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Technical skills: Demonstrated hands-on experience writing SQL queries (joins, aggregations, data extraction) and building/maintaining Power BI reports and data models (DAX). Working knowledge of Python or similar tools for data automation is a strong advantage.
  • Planning systems: Experience with S&OP, ERP, or advanced planning systems; knowledge of OMP or Fenix is an advantage.
  • Customer-facing capability: Proven ability to engage directly with customers and key accounts, confidently presenting data, plans, and trade-offs in customer and sales planning discussions, while building credibility with commercial stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to move fluidly between the big picture and operational detail.
  • Decision-making: Comfortable making clear, timely decisions based on incomplete information, with a considered view of risk.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication and networking skills, able to influence without direct authority across an international matrix organization.
  • Languages: Fluency in English required. Fluency in Swedish or Finnish strongly preferred depending on base location.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally.
