micro1 is engaging Research Engineers specializing in Algorithms & Code Generation to contribute their skills to an innovative customer engagement. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.
Scope of Work
- Design, implement, and optimize algorithms to support code generation and model evaluation tasks.
- Analyze, refactor, and enhance large-scale codebases for performance and maintainability.
- Develop and test challenging programming problems that expose model weaknesses and edge cases.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve bugs across multiple programming languages, including Python3, Java, Rust, C++, and TypeScript.
- Perform rigorous model stress-testing and systematic evaluation based on competitive programming insights.
- Review, critique, and improve algorithmic solutions generated by AI systems or human contributors.
- Deliver high-quality documentation and knowledge transfer materials to support ongoing project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Competitive programming record at Codeforces Candidate Master (1900+) or above, AtCoder equivalent, ICPC regional/world finalist, IOI/IMO medalist, or a comparable achievement (please provide your handle for verification).
- Advanced proficiency in at least one of: Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, TypeScript, or C#.
- Strong command of algorithmic problem-solving, data structures, and performance optimization techniques.
- Proven experience with bug fixing, feature implementation, and codebase refactoring.
- Clear, concise written and spoken English for technical collaboration and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly identify and address complex edge cases in code and model behavior.
- Open source contributors with merged pull requests in repositories they do not own are also encouraged to express interest.
