TJO is seeking a Quality Technician to join our Salt Lake City office. This is a critical role in ensuring our quality control systems operate smoothly to deliver high-quality orthopedic implants and instruments to our customers. The Quality Technician reports to the head of Quality Management and is responsible for a variety of duties within the Quality team. They will demonstrate an exceptional level of attention to detail and will collaborate with a broad cross-functional team within TJO: Document Control, Regulatory, Operations, Engineering, and Warehouse Staff. Additionally, the Quality Technician will engage with our Instrument, Implant, and Packaging Suppliers on a routine basis to ensure documentation, nonconformances, and corrective actions are addressed appropriately. They will primarily focus on consistent execution of our quality control and product release activities to support the reliable and methodical release of implants and instruments.

  • Perform Quality activities for product release of production lots including creation of Lot History Records and verification of required production documentation.
  • Perform inspections of in-process implants and finished good instruments according to TJO visual and functional acceptance criteria.  
  • Accurately document the results of required inspections and maintain associated records according to defined procedures and instructions.
  • Identify nonconforming product, documentation errors, or product discrepancies and work with the larger Quality team to address identified quality issues through NMRs, CAPAs, or complaints.  
  • Assist in standard operating procedure and standard work development and collaborate on process improvement projects
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Perform other related assigned duties

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary education preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working within an ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 environment, with experience in a Quality role preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong desire to learn and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Positive team building skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service to internal and external parties
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic file organization systems
