Role Overview
This secondment gives an internal candidate full ownership of the project leadership and management of transitioning existing and new commercial operations services for the US & SDM markets into the GOSC organisation.
Alongside transition delivery, this role also carries responsibility for the project management practice within GOSC — helping define, standardise and continuously improve how project management is done, in close partnership with the leadership team.
We are looking for someone who goes beyond running a plan: a person who thinks strategically about how each transition and each process improvement fits the bigger GOSC roadmap, who deeply understands the ways of working (WoW) of project management, and who is proactive — spotting risks and opportunities before being asked, and driving them to resolution.
This is a full-time, temporary move out of your current role for the duration of the secondment, with an agreed return-to-role plan. It is designed for a go-getter who wants an accelerated, hands-on stretch assignment in project leadership.
Core Responsibilities
US & SDM Transition Delivery
- Own end-to-end project management of service transitions for US & SDM: build and maintain project plans, timelines and tracking methods; identify dependencies and risks; escalate and resolve issues proactively rather than waiting for problems to surface.
- Establish and maintain a reporting framework that clearly demonstrates transition effectiveness through delivery, performance and quality metrics.
- Act as the primary point of contact for GOSC and in-market colleagues on all planned and ad-hoc transition activity for US & SDM.
Project Management Practice & Process Excellence
- Provide oversight of the project management process within the organisation, working effectively with the leadership team to keep it fit for purpose.
- Apply and champion sound project management ways of working (WoW) — governance, RAID logs, stage gates, status reporting — adapting them pragmatically to a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the transition delivery model, feeding learnings, challenges and best practice back into frameworks, templates and metrics used across GOSC.
- Act as a point of reference for project management standards and practice, supporting consistency across transitions beyond your own portfolio.
Required Experience & Competencies
- Strong, proven project management experience and a genuine command of project management ways of working (WoW) — planning, governance, risk and issue management.
- A strategic mindset: able to see beyond the task list to how a transition or process change affects the wider organisation, and to plan several steps ahead.
- A proactive, go-getter attitude — someone who takes ownership, chases clarity, and moves things forward without waiting to be told.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and shifting priorities within a complex, sometimes ambiguous organisational structure.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to reach alignment across market and GOSC colleagues on deliverables.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to work confidently with metrics and KPIs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English.
- Understanding of, and enthusiasm for, working across cultural differences in a multicultural, global environment.
- Experience defining, standardising or improving project management practice, templates or governance is an advantage.
- Hands-on operational experience within GOSC, with a working knowledge of its structure, teams and day-to-day service delivery model.
