ABOUT ROCKET LAB

Rocket Lab is the end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems that keep the world connected, protected, expand humanity’s reach to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. We move fast, build real hardware for meaningful missions, and make the impossible routine. Come shape the future with us.

SUPPLY CHAIN

Rocket Lab’s Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components throughout the business. With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers’ missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up assembly kits that enable our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together and are critical to our success.

PRODUCTION COORDINATOR II

Based at Rocket Lab’s Auckland, NZ facility, Production Coordinator II is a hands-on role that keeps production fed with materials, follows up for updated status on open work orders, and expedites deliveries where needed. The Production Coordinator team is a key resource within the planning function, supporting production planners to ensure the timely delivery of materials from within our global production system.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

  • On-time execution of issuing shopfloor items to production work orders.
  • Perform regular runs through assigned departments to execute shopfloor material movements and kanban circuits.
  • Ensure lineside inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and tidiness in assigned department(s).
  • Monitor order lines from inventory and escalate when at risk of late delivery.
  • Monitor perishable lineside items and consumables, escalating when at risk of blocking production.
  • Escalate material blockers that prevent production from completing orders.
  • Support prioritization and expediting subassemblies for the vehicle integration timeline, including chasing the last mile through receipt, QC, and inventory for urgent items.
  • Work in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.
  • Support other supply chain departments and teams when required.
  • Work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
  • Distinguish similar strings for maintaining material traceability with serial and lot numbers.
  • Any other duties assigned by your manager, relevant to your role.

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school qualification and 2+ years of relevant production experience
  • Proficient using Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Working experience with ERP systems.
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate, manage work tasks, and provide status updates.
  • Team oriented, strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and to multiple deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to drive, or learn to drive, a forklift and any other equipment as required.

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Certificate or Diploma in relevant manufacturing, business, or supply chain field.

This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We’re on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that’s not an easy task. It takes hard work, determination, relentless innovation, teamwork, grit, and an unwavering commitment to achieving what others often deem impossible. Our people out-think, out-work, and out-pace. We pride ourselves on having each other’s backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small. We thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on the challenges that stand in the way.
