What's Exciting About The Role
This role places you at the centre of Verifone’s payment application strategy for the DACH region. You will shape the terminal application stack that powers one of Europe’s most complex and competitive payment markets — across attended, unattended, SmartPOS, SoftPOS, gateway, and 3rd Party App environments. You will influence product direction across all form factors, drive girocard and next‑generation initiatives like Victa, and own a horizontal product portfolio that touches every merchant segment.
For candidates who want broad ownership, strategic impact, and visibility across engineering, sales, and market leadership, this is one of the most influential product roles in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- BHE Poseidon App roadmap & Book of Work: End-to-end release planning and prioritisation across the DACH product portfolio (Victa series, NEO 2, Engage (until EOL) and future upcoming products) and the software attached to it.
- Payment methods: Girocard (DK), ICS (International card Schemes, ELV/GLV, APMs, cashback, instalments, in future Wero (EPI) and Digital Euro
- Customer variants: Like enterprise-specific builds. You know why the same terminal ships six different application variants — and can defend or consolidate that on the roadmap.
- Estate & terminal management: VHQ 2.0 rollout and adoption, remote update, key management, and certificate management for Verifone and our customers.
- Certification pipeline: PCI-PTS, P2PE vs non-P2PE, GBIC, DC POS / TA, DK certification cycles — you own the sequencing (not the certification itself) so the sales pipeline never stalls on a missing certificate.
- Scheme & regulator alignment: Deutsche Kreditwirtschaft (DK), EURO Kartensysteme, Bundesbank/BaFin adjacencies, and equivalent bodies for AT and CH (SIX / EP2).
- Sales & Ops alignment: Partner to DACH Region management and country sales on Book of Work, feature commitments, and customer escalations — from Partner conferences to enterprise merchants.
- Engineering & ADC partnership: Tight collaboration with the Poseidon Engineering, and Hardware teams on release readiness, hardware supply topics (spares, EOL), and new form factors.
- Hardware aspects: Cover the relevant workstreams to make a hardware product sellable in the DACH region.
Skills and Experience We Desire
- Native or Business fluent German language
- 5+ years of product management in the DACH/EU payments space — terminal vendor, PSP, acquiring, or network operator.
- Broad payments fluency: girocard, international card schemes, SoftPOS, APMs, ELV/SEPA — and how a terminal management system (VHQ or equivalent) ties the estate together.
- Technical foundation: ZVT-H / PSDK / SDI / EP2, EMV kernel, PCI-PTS, P2PE, PSD2 SCA. You do not need to code, but you read Engineering quotes and certification reports on your own.
- Book of Work discipline: comfortable owning a multi-product, multi-customer release matrix and forcing prioritisation trade-offs.
- Regulatory instinct: BaFin/ZAG context, DK/GBIC, ZAIT — you know when a feature change triggers an approval process.
