Procurement Intern
Ebury Leon or Malaga Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week
This is a unique internship opportunity to join a fast-growing Fintech and support the global
procurement function. The successful candidate will sit within Ebury Finance, reporting to the Global Head of Procurement while directly supporting and covering day-to-day operations for the current Senior Procurement Analyst. There is plenty to learn as this division continues defining
processes and policies, conducting sourcing activities on a daily basis while supporting
Global Accounting Services in improving purchasing operations. The candidate will be strongly supported by a business that is embracing opportunities presented by a procurement function yielding results month on month.
This intern's primary focus will be on day-to-day transactional operations and downstream procurement support (Purchasing, Reporting, and operational maintenance). Ad-hoc support for sourcing activities may eventually be required.
What you’ll do
- Purchasing activities: Assisting with the implementation and day-to-day administration of the Purchase Order (PO) process to support the goal of channeling 80% of external spend via PO invoices
- Managing PO creation and receipt process
- Monitoring of process implementation and adoption by other departments
- Assisting with Procurement and PO process enhancement projects
- Support in training material development and training delivery to drive adoption
- Support in invoice dispute resolution cases
- Supporting the Purchase to Pay function and covering for the Senior Procurement Analyst across routine operational tasks and queries
- Analytics and Reporting: Assisting with collecting and compiling procurement data to highlight process improvement opportunities and support team objectives such as
- Reduction of Non-PO and credit card spend
- Regularly reporting to key stakeholders and finance on the progress, compliance and adoption of the PO process
- Other procurement upstream activities to be supported based on projects and capacity
What you’ll need
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Hands off in the use of analytical tools
- Good communication and interpersonal skills including English. Basic Portuguese knowledge is a bonus
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
