In this role, you will drive full-lifecycle development—from early feasibility studies to deployment—working closely alongside electrical, mechanical, and software peers to deliver robust solutions.
The Opportunity
- Participate in all PLC software development phases, including feasibility studies, design, implementation, unit testing, debugging, and long-term maintenance.
- Define, estimate, and execute development work packages within an agile team, ensuring high quality and on-time delivery.
- Author clear subsystem/unit specifications based on software architecture guidelines and document all steps in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Design, implement, and review unit/subsystem code alongside automated tests, conducting peer code reviews to optimize application design, usability, and performance.
- Continuously improve software workflows, share expertise with junior developers, and advise line and project management on technical solutions.
Who you are
- You hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, specialising in PLC software development.
- You have solid experience in full-lifecycle software engineering (design, C/C++, python, PLC structured text programming, testing, and debugging), ideally in a regulated domain like medical devices.
- You possess strong analytical skills with a proven track record of writing clean, testable code and detailed technical specifications.
- You thrive in collaborative team environments, enjoy mentoring peers, and actively contribute to optimizing software workflows and architectures.
- You enjoy working hands-on with hardware instrumentation.
- You bring clear technical communication skills and fluency in English and German.
