Job Description
Principal FPGA Engineer – Advanced Industrial Imaging Systems
What you’ll do
- Define FPGA architecture strategy across industrial camera platforms.
- Lead and mentor a team of FPGA designers, providing technical guidance and coaching.
- Establish RTL standards, design methodologies, and reusable IP practices.
- Drive FPGA security features including bitstream protection and secure update support.
- Select FPGA devices and manage resource budgets to optimize cost, power, and longevity.
- Serve as the final technical authority for FPGA architecture decisions and firmware integration.
- Conduct design reviews covering RTL, schematics, pin assignments, memory maps, and interfaces.
- Lead FPGA build, release, automation, and regression infrastructure.
- Collaborate with product, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams across sites.
- Evaluate emerging FPGA technologies, tools, and design approaches.
What you need
- Required: Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Required: Extensive FPGA development experience using VHDL and/or Verilog/System Verilog.
- Required: Expertise in simulation, synthesis, timing closure, CDC analysis, constraints, and verification.
- Required: Experience with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or Microchip FPGA platforms and toolchains.
- Required: Proven FPGA/firmware integration experience including processors, memory controllers, and register maps.
- Required: Hands-on hardware bring-up and lab debugging experience.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Advantage: Advanced degree and experience in machine vision, imaging, camera systems, or high-speed digital design.

Salary Range:
$114,200.00-$152,300.000The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
