Job description
The team
Our Pre-Sales team partners closely with Account Managers, Channel Partners, and technical specialists to help customers solve complex business and technology challenges. Acting as trusted advisors, we design outcome-focused solutions that leverage the full value of Hitachi Vantara's portfolio. Working across sales, pre-sales, services, and partner ecosystems, we combine technical expertise with business insight to support customers throughout their transformation journey and ensure successful outcomes.
The role
As a Pre-Sales Solution Architect, you will serve as the primary technical advisor supporting sales opportunities across assigned accounts and partners. You will work closely with Account Managers and Channel Partners to understand customer objectives, qualify opportunities, and develop solutions that address business and technical requirements. You will lead technical discussions, solution design workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts, while coordinating specialist resources when required. The role requires the ability to translate customer challenges into compelling solution strategies, articulate business value to both technical and executive audiences, and support opportunities throughout the sales lifecycle. You will also collaborate with post-sales teams to ensure smooth handoffs and contribute to continuous development of your technical, sales, and consulting expertise.
What you'll bring
- Strong experience in a pre-sales, solutions consulting, sales engineering, or technical consulting role.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure architectures, including storage, networking, servers, and converged systems.
- Experience designing and presenting enterprise technology solutions to customers and partners.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solution recommendations.
- Experience leading technical discovery sessions, workshops, demonstrations, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
- Strong communication and presentation skills with both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Knowledge of enterprise storage, data platforms, hybrid cloud, virtualization, or related technologies.
- Understanding of partner ecosystems, including VARs, GSIs, LSIs, and technology alliances.
- Consultative approach with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence decision-making.
- Exposure to analytics, data management, cloud, IoT, or adjacent technologies is a plus.
