Key duties and responsibilities

The Molding Process Engineer will be responsible for: ensuring injection molding process is capable at all the times, and contribute with maintain a good level of efficiency in the process. Provide technical training on Injection Molding technology coupled with ownership of teaching the knowledge to all technical employees, including Master Molder capabilities. Being the liaison between the production floor and Engineering Manager for Lean implementation and sustain of ConvaTec company policies including process establishment, control, mold validation, scientific molding and quality procedures, meeting deadlines.

General Requirements:

Responsible for managing and support Process Technicians and Molding associates across all shifts

Review in daily basis that molding process is in compliance with the parameters defined in process sheets

Take actions and solve any issues founded in the established process

Give feedback to Mold maker to find the best solution for fixing / improve molds

Validation of new molds / machines

Creation and update of Molding Process Parameters Sheet

Creation and update of Work Instruction and Packaging Instructions

General training for Molding Associate when needed

Implement improvements in the molding process by introducing New Technology or New methods of works

Create and maintain a history of every mold, including improvements and lessons learned

Assure that process is in compliance with the Convatec procedures and Regulatory Directives that applied

Be a direct contact for Auditors for reviewing Molding Process

Other activities related with Engineering Department.

Skills and experience

Bachelor’s Degree Required, preferably in Molding Process or Similar

At least 5 years of Experience in Injection Molding Process

Tooling / molds, Injection molding machine maintenance required.

DOE, CAR – route cause analysis

Capability studies

Minitab

Safety and regulatory guidelines

Scientific Injection Molding (Preferred)

Must be a proven team leader.

Demonstrated ability to implement new techniques and continuous improvement projects

Analytical approach to problem solving

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project knowledgeable

Fully bilingual (Spanish/ English)

Induction to ISO 14001:2015. Induction on Environmental Legal Requirements, Training on Applicable Environmental Management System Documents, Disaster Care and Response, Applicable Operational Controls, Determination of Applicable Significant Environmental Aspects, and Impacts, EHS Policy and Environmental Objectives.
