Sobre este puesto de Mid-Level Full Stack Engineer - Asset Hub en SimpleClosure

SimpleClosure · Híbrido · Hybrid in New York City

Company Overview

Most companies don’t end in acquisition — they end in closure. Yet shutdown has never been given the same rigor, clarity, or professionalism as the moments that came before it. Nearly 4 million companies shut down every year, creating a massive, overlooked market. SimpleClosure is building the infrastructure to change that.

Having raised over $20M from leading VCs and trusted by more than 7,000 companies to date, we streamline the entire business dissolution process — from legal and tax to operational and administrative — as one coordinated effort instead of a patchwork of disconnected steps. We go a step further, helping companies sell their remaining assets and return the most value to their stakeholders, through our Asset Hub.

As the leading platform for company shutdowns, we have something no one else does: a continuous, proprietary flow of companies winding down, and the assets they built along the way. Our buyers span the top AI labs, RL environment providers, vertical and enterprise agent builders, VCs and deal-flow partners, domain marketplaces, and much more. Dissolution is our wedge; the marketplace is a big part of where we’re headed.

Joining our Asset Hub team means helping to define a new category from the ground up, working on complex, high-stakes problems, and building the products and processes that guide founders through one of the most consequential moments in a company’s life.

Job Overview

SimpleClosure is seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack Engineer to help build Asset Hub — our marketplace for the assets left behind when a company shuts down: codebases, workspaces, proprietary data, domains, and talent. Our buyers include some of the top foundation model labs, RL environment providers, and AI agent builders in the world, who rely on Asset Hub as a differentiated source of proprietary data they can’t get anywhere else.

You’ll work across the stack to build the tools and products that power asset selling and buying, and to replace manual internal processes with technology so the team can scale. You’ll work in a small, dedicated Asset Hub pod with product and design support, shipping in short cycles and owning features end to end — balancing frontend craftsmanship with backend problem-solving in a fast-moving startup environment.

*Candidates MUST be located in the New York City Metro area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across Asset Hub — the buyer portal for browsing and licensing codebases and workspaces, domains, and the internal tools behind them.

  • Implement clean, maintainable frontend experiences using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.

  • Write high quality, well-tested code and use AI tooling to move faster

  • Build and integrate backend services, APIs, and data models to support asset selling and buying and to connect third-party and partner systems.

  • Replace manual internal processes — asset intake, cataloging, pricing, deal tracking — with tooling that lets the team scale without adding headcount.

  • Own features end to end, from technical design through deployment and iteration; debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in production.

  • Work with sensitive material — codebases, workspace exports, and proprietary datasets — with strong attention to security, privacy, and PII handling.

  • Collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and the GM of Asset Hub to translate ambiguous requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.

  • Frontend: Strong experience with React and TypeScript; Next.js or similar frameworks preferred.

  • Backend: Experience building server-side logic and APIs and integrating with third-party services; proficiency in Python.

  • Databases: Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

  • Ownership: Comfortable taking projects from concept through deployment and iteration in an ambiguous, 0-to-1 environment.

  • Problem-solving: Proactive, thoughtful engineer who can navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions.

  • Collaboration & communication: Strong team player who enjoys working cross-functionally, with clear written and verbal communication.

  • Adaptability: Thrives in an evolving startup environment with shifting priorities.

  • AI-assisted development: Experience using AI dev tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) as part of your regular workflow.

  • Nice to have: marketplace, B2B, or platform products; data-heavy products; experience working with codebases/repositories or large datasets.

What we offer

  • Base Salary: $120,000 - $170,000, depending on experience level

  • Competitive equity package

  • Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision

  • Life insurance

  • Unlimited paid time off

  • Flexible hybrid work environment in New York City, Midtown (currently 2 days per week in office)

  • Two company-wide offsites each year

  • 401(k) with Traditional and Roth options, with immediate eligibility
