The Digital Merchandiser owns the digital customer experience and business performance for assigned Peter Millar categories. This role is responsible for translating business objectives, customer insights, and inventory strategies into compelling online experiences that drive conversion, engagement, and revenue.
Working cross-functionally with Planning, Marketing, Creative, UX, and Site Operations, the Digital Merchandiser identifies opportunities, influences strategy, and executes optimizations that improve category performance while elevating the Peter Millar brand experience online.
This role is on-site in Durham, NC three days per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Own digital merchandising strategy and customer experience for assigned categories.
- Analyze category performance, customer behavior, and inventory trends to identify opportunities and recommend actions that drive business results.
- Optimize category presentation, navigation, product discovery, and storytelling to improve conversion and engagement.
- Lead digital execution for product launches, seasonal priorities, promotional events, and brand campaigns.
- Develop performance recaps and actionable recommendations for cross-functional partners and leadership.
- Partner with Planning, Marketing, Creative, UX, and Site Operations to deliver cohesive, customer-centric shopping experiences.
- Ensure site quality through ongoing audits of product content, imagery, categorization, and merchandising execution.
- Stay informed on customer trends, competitive activity, and digital merchandising best practices to continuously improve performance.
COMPETENCIES:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into business recommendations.
- Knowledge of ecommerce merchandising, site optimization, and customer behavior.
- Experience with ecommerce platforms, analytics tools, and product information management systems.
- Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Passion for premium retail, lifestyle, apparel, and customer experience.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in digital merchandising, ecommerce, retail planning, buying, or related disciplines.
