As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You'll work closely with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and you'll use engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Your expertise in lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving higher levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness. You'll develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to identify root cause issues and solutions that ensure operational success.

Manufacturing Engineers support the development, improvement, and execution of manufacturing processes for parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. The role focuses on improving safety, quality, cost, reliability, and efficiency while coordinating closely with design engineering, NPME, operations, quality, test engineering, suppliers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing methods, operating sequences, work instructions, process flows, build layouts, and assembly procedures for components, subassemblies, and final systems.
  • Coordinate with design engineering, NPME, operations, quality, test engineering, suppliers, and other stakeholders to implement product improvements, and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Create, review, route, approve, and implement engineering change requests and orders while assessing impacts to bills of material, drawings, product structures, kits, assemblies, operations, suppliers, and customers.
  • Use DFx, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement principles to reduce cost, improve manufacturability, eliminate waste, and enhance product safety, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, establish or support time standards, and recommend tooling, fixturing, test equipment, process requirements, and production layout improvements.
  • Develop, support, and evaluate test procedures, build processes, operational data, and test results to troubleshoot failures and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Perform root cause analysis, failure analysis, process failure mode analysis, and corrective action planning for issues found during assembly, supplier manufacturing, system integration, or test.
  • Gather and analyze manufacturing, quality, supplier, and test data to support data-driven decision-making and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support supplier quality and manufacturing readiness activities by engaging suppliers, reviewing supplier-related issues, supporting audits or visits, and helping resolve material or process concerns.
  • Communicate clearly across functions, train or coach participants in engineering change and manufacturing processes, mediate implementation barriers, and support effective project execution.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of manufacturing systems and tools such as PLM/PDM systems, SAP, CAD platforms, engineering change systems, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Tableau, Visio, and other software used to manage product and process data.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 1–3 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated conceptual knowledge and technical experience for everyday problem-solving.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management and critical thinking skills to understand priorities and support project execution.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Tableau, Visio, and other software or systems necessary for the performance of the job.

Preferred Qualifications:
