Deep Linux knowledge is one thing. Making it make sense to someone else is another. As a Linux Helpdesk Technician at Axis in Lund, you'll do both — for thousands of colleagues and around 2,000 Linux clients, in a team where user satisfaction is the measure of a job well done 

Who is your future team? 

Our IT Helpdesk is where colleagues turn when technology gets in the way. We provide 1st line support to several thousand colleagues in Sweden and act as 2nd line support for our global Helpdesk contacts. We're 40 people in total, organised into functional areas covering internal systems and access management, Windows, Linux, Mac, telephony and conference rooms. 

As a Linux Helpdesk Technician, you'll join a tight-knit team of four who share responsibility for around 2,000 Linux clients. Across the whole Helpdesk, we're working towards the same thing: user satisfaction, built on quick responses and a professional, helpful approach. 

What you'll do here as Linux Helpdesk Technician 

Your day revolves around people. Colleagues come to you when something has stopped working, and you're the one who listens, works out what's wrong and fixes it — over the phone, through our ticketing system, remotely, or face to face at our walk-in service desk. Technical depth is what makes that possible; service is what makes it matter. 

• Support colleagues through our ticketing system, by phone, using remote tools and on site 

• Staff the walk-in service desk about half a day a week, helping colleagues with laptops, phones and other equipment 

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a Linux environment 

• Install, configure and deliver Linux clients using tools such as Ubuntu and FAI (Fully Automatic Installation) 

• Spot and fix issues before they reach users, with the help of tools such as Ubuntu Landscape 

• Create and maintain technical documentation 

• Help shape how we support users in future, through AI-supported solutions and self-service options 

Who are we looking for? 

We're looking for someone who is genuinely helpful — the kind of colleague people are relieved to reach. You explain technical solutions in plain language, however technical the person in front of you happens to be, and you take every question seriously. 

That helpfulness rests on real technical depth. You know Linux well enough to get to the bottom of things. You take ownership of your cases and drive them forward independently, and you keep an eye out for what could work better. You share your knowledge easily and enjoy working with people from a wide range of backgrounds. For us, your willingness to develop in the role matters just as much as your professional background. 

We'd love to hear that you have: 

• Solid, hands-on experience with Linux in a client environment — however you gained it 

• Experience supporting users and resolving their technical issues 

• Experience working with ticketing and case management systems 

• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken 

Bonus points for: 

• Working knowledge of Ubuntu, FAI, CFEngine or Ubuntu Landscape 

• Working knowledge of ServiceNow 

• Scripting experience with Bash and Python 

• Experience of larger initiatives such as OS rollouts, or familiarity with Windows, Mac, mobile devices or conference room technology
