JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Designs robotic systems, components, and prototypes.
  • Develops software for robot control, navigation, and decision-making.
  • Applies Control Systems Engineering and Artificial Intelligence to enable autonomous behaviour.
  • Integrates hardware (sensors, actuators) with software systems.
  • Ensures smooth communication between embedded systems and the Yard Digital Twin.
  • Utilises tools such as ROS (Robot Operating System).
  • Tests robotic systems in simulations and real-world environments.
  • Identifies bugs, performance issues, and safety risks.
  • Validates functionality, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
  • Improves system efficiency, speed, and precision.
  • Optimises algorithms for real-time performance.
  • Develops perception systems using cameras, LiDAR, and related technologies.
  • Applies Computer Vision techniques.
  • Builds intelligent behaviours using Artificial Intelligence.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software).
  • Communicates with product managers and stakeholders (security, safety, operations).
  • Participates in design reviews and planning sessions.
  • Deploys robots in production or operational environments.
  • Monitors performance and maintains systems.
  • Provides updates, patches, and continuous improvements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in robotics projects (e.g., university labs, competitions, or personal builds).
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python for building and controlling robotic systems.
  • Basic knowledge of robot simulation tools (e.g., Nvidia Isaac Lab).
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
  • Experience with robotic frameworks (e.g., ROS, Open-RMF).
  • Strong involvement in system integration, combining hardware and software components.
  • Proven experience in testing and debugging robotic systems in real-world environments.
  • Good understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and path planning for robotic movement.
  • Ability to design feedback loops using Control Systems Engineering principles.
  • Experience in using sensors and applying Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence for decision-making.
  • Exposure to Computer Vision, Control Systems Engineering, and VLA/VLM integration.
  • Ability to integrate hardware and software into fully functional systems and troubleshoot issues efficiently.

Working Hours: 
Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5.15pm 

Friday: 8:00am – 4.30pm
