As a Lead Digital Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical leadership for digital transformation initiatives within the Infrastructure team and within the broader engineering organization when multidisciplinary coordination is required, supporting the adoption of innovative technologies and digital ways of working.
- Acting as the primary digital focal point for Infrastructure, identifying opportunities to improve engineering and project execution processes through automation, digitalization, data analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
- Collaborating with the PEO Digital Leader, under his strategic direction for digital initiatives, to ensure Infrastructure initiatives are aligned with broader PEO digital strategies, priorities, standards and governance.
- Partnering with Engineering and Digital Technology stakeholders to understand business needs and challenges and consider those during the development of digital solutions.
- Gathering, analyzing and prioritizing business requirements, defining digital use cases and supporting the development of business cases for digital initiatives.
- Designing, developing, implementing and continuously improving digital tools, automation solutions, dashboards, reporting capabilities and AI-enabled applications that support engineering and project execution activities.
- Developing selected solutions directly when appropriate, while coordinating internal Digital Technology teams, external developers and service providers for more complex initiatives.
- Evaluating emerging technologies and identifying opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, low-code/no-code platforms, process automation and other innovative capabilities to improve business performance.
- Supporting the integration and interoperability of engineering tools, business systems and digital platforms to improve information flow, efficiency and user experience.
- Driving the adoption of digital solutions through stakeholder engagement, user support, training and change management activities.
- Ensuring compliance with company governance, cybersecurity, software development and data management requirements throughout the lifecycle of digital solutions.
- Monitoring solution effectiveness through metrics, data analysis and user feedback, continuously identifying opportunities for enhancement and optimization.
- Communicating progress, risks, opportunities and outcomes of digital initiatives to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Coaching and mentoring team members and contributors on digital technologies, automation opportunities and best practices, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Supporting Infrastructure team activities related to engineering templates, configuration management and requisition execution when required to address workload fluctuations and business priorities.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
· Have a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
· Demonstrate strong knowledge of digital technologies, software development methodologies, system integrations and modern data management practices.
· Have experience with Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Machine Learning applications, automation technologies or other emerging digital solutions.
· Have experience developing, implementing or managing digital solutions supporting engineering, project execution or business processes.
· Demonstrate the ability to translate complex business needs into practical, scalable and user-focused digital solutions.
· Have strong analytical thinking, data analysis and structured problem-solving capabilities.
· Be capable of leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across a matrix organization.
· Demonstrate a passion for innovation, continuous improvement and technology adoption.
· Be comfortable working in dynamic environments, managing multiple priorities and driving initiatives from concept through implementation.
· Demonstrate practical, hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 low-code/no-code technologies, including Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint, Copilot, automation and collaboration tools, beyond theoretical or general familiarity.
· Basic familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages would be considered a plus to support AI-enabled automation, such as agentic AI use cases, rapid prototyping, data handling and integrations.
· Have experience working with software developers, Digital Technology organizations, system integrators or external technology providers.
· Have a solid understanding of engineering processes, product lifecycle management concepts and project execution environments, or the ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge.
· Possess strong oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English.

The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 43,600 To 70,000.
The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay.
