Job Summary
The Team Operations and Player Care Coordinator is responsible for delivering comprehensive support and care to players and their families, acting as a key liaison between players and the technical staff. This role ensures a seamless player experience by managing all administrative and logistical needs related to the LA Galaxy. The coordinator will oversee the full lifecycle of player and staff engagement with the club—from arrival to departure—including new players, trialists, technical staff, and guests. This includes supporting onboarding, travel, accommodations, daily logistics, and ensuring all individuals are properly cared for in every aspect of their interaction with the club.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate and support the full relocation process for new player signings, including travel, housing, banking, communications, transportation, documentation, schooling, and language lessons. Prepare and regularly update a detailed welcome package to ensure a smooth transition for players and their families.
- Assist in the game day experience for players and their families— coordinating logistics such as arrival, parking, ticketing, hospitality, childminding, and travel for both home and away matches.
- Coordinate and execute all aspects of team travel, including flights, lodging, meals, ground transportation, and logistics for training and games.
- Support players with media and appearance obligations in coordination with team administration and communications. Manage player mail and deliveries, including care packages, sponsor items, and fan mail.
- Coordinate player appearance requests by ensuring all details are clearly communicated. Plan and execute team events throughout the season.
- Liaise with visiting teams to coordinate all in-market logistics, including suite accommodations, tickets, parking, credentials, and training session arrangements.
- Work with the league office to ensure timely and accurate completion of player HR documentation, including payroll setup, benefits, insurance, and pension plans.
- Help organize and maintain a clean, efficient, and structured work environment, supporting colleagues in managing office, breakroom, and shared common areas.
- Utilize Concur to manage expense tracking, ensure budget accuracy, and deliver timely financial reports to appropriate accounting and finance contacts.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) Degree in Sport Management/Business, Social Work, or Hospitality preferred
- 2-4 years Experience in hospitality, real estate, customer service, VIP concierge services or professional sports is preferred
- Experience playing and/or working in soccer is preferred
- Must be willing and able to travel and have a reliable vehicle with clean driving history
- Team player with the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel with the ability to learn required business systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
- Able to think quickly and problem solve efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization including players, coaches etc.
- Spanish and/or French language proficiency is preferred
Payscale: $21.27 - $25.81
Bonus: This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
